Help make my DH happy.(Time for a new phone)

Our home phone is on Straight Talk Home phone. It's working great, but our phone system is getting very hard to understand.
Instead of getting another phone system, we've decided to get a cell phone, transfer our home number to it and it will become my husband's phone.
He's getting better using a cell, but gets a bit impatient if things don't go as fast as he thinks they should.
So I'm looking for a Prepaid Android, with 32gb, (not that I think he'll need it) maybe 3g of ram. At least a 5 inch screen. Doesn't need a great camera. I want to use it on Red Pocket (Verizon).
I can start him out on Verizon and then switch it over to Red Pocket after Verizon gives me the unlock code when I fullfil their requirements.
Oh did I mention I'm cheap? I only pay $50.00 for my own phones, but I know I'll have to pay more to get him one. Absolute high price is $200.00,(although I will not like that).
I've had a Moto E4 and now using Moto e5 play and liked them both.
Bottom line, good battery life, good speed and storage. You know the perfect phone!!
    Thanks
    Suggestions? Comments?

I know the Moto E4 won't meet the desired 32/3, but why don't you start him out on that? It's still a very capable phone for non-demanding users. If it's the XT1768, you could even start right away with RP.

    I agree. I liked my E4.
He is using a couple old phones on wifi. I checked his storage and he has 1g left on the old Boost phone, (seems like a lot of bloat), and 4g on the newer Huawui. Right now he doesn't have a lot of apps loaded, but I want to make sure he has plenty of storage. That's why I'm leaning towards 32g.
Checked today at the local Wal-Mart, only ones I saw that might work were 16g.

Take a look at swappa.com unless new is a must. But something like the LG G6 would be over kill for him. But they can be gotten under $120 used for a decent shape one

The galaxy S8 can be gotten pretty cheap too. But be careful with the Newer Samsung’s on redpocket Verizon. As provisioning is weird where MMS can be hit or miss. And volte and WiFi calling won’t work if those are important.

This sounds like what I'm looking for. I'll do some more research on it.

I was looking for the E4 and didn't see any. Am I not looking it the right place or are they all gone?

I'm guessing those Moto E4 phones are the ones that came from Walmart when they were cleared out for $30.

I'm going to order this phone. The only thing I can see that bothers me is that the battery may not be removable.
It looks like I can start it out on Red Pocket without starting on another carrier.
Now to decide on a RP plan for it.

About how many home minutes a month are used now?

You could start him on the $15 for 1000min, unlimited texts and 1gb data then once you know his usage upgrade to more data or but a 1 year card on eBay.

Or if you think his usage will go up and down buy the 49.99 eBay Tracfone plan and see how long It takes him to use up the buckets then supplement with cards from them if needed. RrdPocket is a good deal for heavy use, not for light or even medium anymore.

To start with, I'm getting the RP $19.00 unlimited calls, and text, with 1g of data. We always use wifi at home, so I'm not too worried about getting more than that. I will start with month to month and will see how that plan works for him. After that I can always change it.
Thanks for the help. The phone And SIM card are on the way!
