Sprint phones are difficult to unlock?

I would like to buy Sprint LG V40 and unlock it for T-Mobile network. Sprint V40 about $100 less expensive than T-mobile version. But I read somewhere Sprint phones can only be unlocked by Sprint. Is this true? I searched ebay. Only one vendor sells unlock code for Sprint LG V40 @ $65. Too much.

All carriers require that you use it on their network for the first 100 days or so. One year for prepaid. So you have to use it on Sprint first.

My apology for not being clear. It is a used phone from a reseller. Used and locked to Sprint.

I am sorry we don't have any solution to help you unlock your LG V40 from Sprint. These device does not prompt for "SIM network unlock PIN" when inserted with non-accepted sim card.

It has to be unlocked by Sprint and I need to know previous owner's name with no unpaid bills. Thank you.

You could have an existing sprint customer activate it on their account then request an unlock.

I am looking for someone to unlock my sprint phone. Seems like most vendors don't do it. Does anyone know where I can get it unlocked?

There are a few companies who are paid advertisers on the HOFO forum. Check their sites for unlocking assistance.

Sprint phones are the WORST to get unlocked! 99% of the time there is money owed, if that is the case, they will NEVER unlock it.

    I don't see that as Sprint's fault.

In a way it is ! Sprint is the only carrier that leases you the phone, very complicated, then folks relize there is no light at the end of the tunnel and stop paying. Other carriers offer 0% interest, simple payments, not complicated.
