    $10 1Gb mobile only plan

I've got an old $10 1Gb monthly plan with USB data stick. Was wondering if I could use it for data only on a phone? My mom has a cheap pay as you go plan on 7 Eleven Wireless but she wants a little data but data on 7 Eleven is $10 per 100Mb. I'm wondering if I used a dual SIM phone (with AWS bands) she can have phone on SIM1 and data on SIM2. On my dual SIM S7 (from UAE) I can have selective service on it.
I just don't want to cut the SIM card down yet. Was wondering if Wind/Freedom would know if I'm sticking a data only SIM card in a phone.

I also heard Freedom isn't offering this plan anymore.

On one hand yes the $10 for 1GB plan no longer exists
But the new plan is $15 for 4GB + free hardware (Tablet) so your old plan is not really worth keeping imo

(even assuming you sell the Tablet, at $5 x 24 = $120 you break even price wise, but get 4x the data allotment)
    Koodo $40 Canada Wide + 8GB + 1000 Intl LD
    Public $120 Province Wide + 12GB - $6 Autopay - $12 Loyalty - $45 Refer = $19 per Month
    Freedom $35 ($37-BTS) North America Wide + 8GB + 1GB Roaming

The Freedom Mobile website says I have to use the SIM card only in a tablet bought from Freedom. If you use it in a phone it apparently bumps you up to the Freedom 2Gb (+2Gb bonus) $40 plan. That kind of implies that if I use my current 1Gb SIM card on a phone in data mode I would be penalized.

That term message did not exist until the last year or so - your old plan would not have those terms.

The grandfathered plan is also valuable if you have other lines as it's valid for BTS - new data plan is not.
So for light use, that's basically $5/mo add on to a main line for 1GB. I'd sign up for that in a heartbeat if it was still offered.

That should work, as long as your are able to add in the proper APN if it doesn't populate automatically. broadband.freedommobile.ca (or broadband.windmobile.ca).

Those terms don't apply to your plan as far as I am aware.

Yeah and Koodo terms say I need to change my plan if I no longer live in SK or PQ
No carrier (esp one like Freedom who is hurting for $$$) is ever gonna kick you off a plan

Oh and note also, as per Wireless Code, *IF* they do change your plan you can cancel without penalty so they basically gave you the Tablet for free anyways
    It aint happening

I used the $15/3GB Fido tablet plan in an iPhone for 2 years! Sold the LG tablet that they gave me lol.

    They want your business!
