Lycamobile ending prepaid (no plan option)?

Just got this a few minutes ago. Sucks, where else can I get .05 minute and no expiration?

Check out FreeUp Mobile (AT&T) or Tello (Sprint)

Tello. Except it's $0.03/min with no expiration with usage at least every 3 months.

Tello is really solid, with the exception you have to deal with Sprints weird sim card issues, etc..

No such text for me yet. Top ups are still available on their website. Nothing on their blog:

    https://www.lycamobile.us/en/plan-changes-update/

Last month someone posted about a monthly $1 charge on paygo that never came to be.

I remember way back when Lycamobile first came to the US, I signed up in May, 2013, they had official paygo, would allow any small dollar amount to be added as a top-up, and had no usage requirement no expiration, if I'm remembering correctly. It was a dream come true at the time, but it didn't stay that way for long!

After they moved to their "new" system that required new SIM cards, rates were supposed to increase from $0.02 to $0.05/min, but it seems like it took around 2 years before that really happened!

Just got the same text from Lycamobile, a few days after I topped up for the coming year. How annoying.

You can't just get a sim card you can use in any phone. They have different sim models depending on the make and model of the phone you have. It is a PITA, esp if you want to switch phones.

Boz1, just explored the Tello site. How do you get .03/min. and no expiration? Cheapest I saw was $5.00/month with 100 min. no data.

And I was considering to get a sim for this. Oh well. Time to look at the other options I suppose.

Thanks guys! Looks like Tello is going to be better than Lycamobile anyway.

What about Truphone? 9c/min but incoming is free. No expiration.
