H2O to start charging taxes and fees May 1, 2019

Received a text from H2O saying they must start charging for taxes and fees, currently included in their plan cost, starting May 1. Amount added will vary per location.

Example: For $10 paygo, I am currently charged $8.50 every 90 days with the autopay discount. That goes up to $9.31 with a .60 911 fee, .123 sales tax, and .94 recovery fee.

I don't like it but I'm also not surprised. Taxes just keep going up.

Much as H2O annoys me, I still can't find another AT&T MVNO that offers 3GB below $30

Still lower/month average for my limited PayGo requirements on this line. And I have over $36 in my account. So unless they do something to upset me, I'll be staying
iPhone X is my current primary phone. I have older model iPhones and Moto phones available on other lines. Currently prepaid, though would consider postpaid on right plan.

Has anyone that has the prepaid recharge effect them? I am on autopay and think my next recharge is due in July. I am wondering if they post the same credit and deduct the taxes, or charge extra to include the taxes at the recharge. I used the calculator and it would seem to be a charge at the time of recharge so only quarterly. I am kind of stuck with them as I am outside the US currently and building a pretty big balance and it seems like its going to grow more. Thanks if you can let me know what to expect.

I like how you link a plan that is essentially the same price but lower data than the current plan. OP said 3GB for below $30. 2GB for $30. Learn to ****ing read.

    What a cricket fanboy.

H2O doesn't have to charge you taxes (they must remit taxes regardless if they charge the customer or not) but are choosing to pass along those taxes now. H2O did get acquired by the parent company of Puretalk and Puretalk has always passed along taxes to the customers. I wonder if it is the parent company pushing the taxes down.

My charge went through yesterday. The normal $9. But just looking at the text message on my phone, it said starting June 1.

The transaction online showed the taxes breakdown, so I guess we can see what they have been paying, and what we will be paying next time.

guess some of you are lucky because I do not recall any text but my card was charged 10.46 which was normally $9 on May 7.
