I have an old 5230 which I intend to pass on to somebody else who wants phone for occasional use and doesn’t need a smart phone. Unfortunately the lock code has been forgotten, lost or somehow got corrupted so I’m hoping one of the users on this forum can help.
After doing a lot of searches in this forum and on the web I have so far:
Downloaded Nokia Care Suite, BBS Tools and BB5 USB Utility but not able to get any of these to work. After a while I realised that I wasn’t able to connect the phone with USB because the connection is disabled by the phone when lock code is required. If I switch off the phone, plug in USB, then switch on the phone, in Windows device manager I see it connect as the phone starts up but then about 1 second later disconnects.
Tried holding red, green and camera buttons at the same time as switching on.
Downloaded THC_NOKIA_UNLOCK.MDL file and saved it to system folder on phone memory card. This was supposed to run some code when the phone starts up to reset the lock code to default 12345.
From Unlockitfree.com got master lock code from a generator using the IMEI.
None of the methods I have tried so far made any difference whatsoever, every time I start it up I am prompted to enter the lock code. After 3 attempts I have to wait 5 minutes or remove the battery and try again. Is the phone now completely useless or would there be any way of getting past the lock screen.
It is SIM locked to Vodafone UK and has product code 0595439. I don’t need to remove the SIM lock but if it is possible to get it working that would be bonus.
Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated,
Thanks.

Thanks for the tip however I haven’t been able to find anything that I haven’t already seen on YouTube or tried.
