    Legacy PayGo -> data PayGo?

I've amassed a >$150 balance on my legacy Gold Rewards PayGo line but would really like to do something useful with it... something that allows data usage. I don't want to run down the balance with the useless $3/mo PayGo "plan". Any other options? Just want to use it when I need it, drawing down the balance only when I use it...

Ha, ha, ha! Let me know if you find something, although I watch this forum like a hawk (quiet though it may be).

I'm pretty content to let my line languish, as I have others in more regular use. As long as I can keep refilling for a while longer.

    Same here.
I have 2 Legacy Gold plans and 1 of the $3 a month plan.
Lately when I'm yapping with the $3 plan one I don't even care if I blow through an hour.
I'm just trying to use that one down at this point.
I have to top up my 2 Gold Rewards Legacy plans in April.
Hoping that they will still give me the year after topping up.

I had no luck trying to sell mine because you can't get anything for the minutes. My gold rewards plan has about $90 worth of minutes.

So I am just keeping mine as a backup line.

~$230 on my Legacy Gold plan.

And $913 on my Page Plus PayGo plan. At least I can use data on Page Plus PayGo.

I guess I should burn up some $ on T-Mobile when I'm in the UK in May.

I dumped my Gold Rewards account a few months ago after 15 years. There are cheaper options for PAYGO users.

I found no reason to pay $10/year for a phone number almost never used.

What is cheaper than $10 a year?

Also my main line is boost so I would prefer my backup line be on another carrier than sprint.

And freedom pop sounds like a hassle to me plus I don't have a phone.

You can use Lycamobile, Tello, or Truphone. Their balances don't expire if you make at least 1 call every 90 days.

One can always park their number to Google Voice and not worry about spending money to keep a number alive.

FreeUp Mobile uses AT&T network and has a completely free plan (1000 minutes or texts each month, no data). You just need to go online each month to select the free plan for the next month. My only cost was $4.99 for a SIM card.

Lol. 15+ year history vs what, 5 months? Doubt Freeup will be around even 2 years. (Hope it is. I have both). Wouldn't trust Freeup with my permanent #.

Just topped up my two Legacy Gold Rewards accounts, no problem.

CallingMart now has a $1 fee, but I had a dime on my account so I paid $10.90 per top up, no big deal, my state charges sales tax on top of the e911 fee if I but the cards in store so I'm still ahead of the game buying from CallingMart on these two Legacy Gold lines.

I used RTR and the money showed up on each line within minutes.

Didn't have to screw around with adding PINs to the lines.
Didn't have to go to a store that sells the $10 card.
Target doesn't sell $10 cards. At least the two Target stores that I can get to. they don't sell the $10 refills online either.

Snowy! I just topped up my legacy GR line too. Good for another year!

Callingmart (including $1 fee) is also still better than buying the $10 from T-Mobile online directly.

Yep, I'd been waiting it out, technically I could have waited 2 more days, but I didn't want to accidentally miss the correct day by forgetting about it.

Now my expiration date is 4/20/2020.

Leap Year must be next year.

I have one T-Mobile line on the $3 a month plan and have been using it up, I don't care if I go over the 30 minutes a month, I am just using that one down and after it's gone I will switch the one Legacy Gold line with the highest balance to the $3 a month plan and use it down.

That's the big problem with having too many active lines with big balances.

I have a Tracfone line that is good through 2023 and have to activate three bundle phones and do the transfer shuffle with them, a Truphone line that will last quite a while.

    Another yearly phone plan.

    And these 3 T-Mobile lines.

    Yes, First World problems.

At least I'm not juggling the Lycamobile and other lines that I have let go.
I've forgotten the names of some of those outfits.

Too hard keeping track of all this nonsense.

Years ago either on my TM GR or P+ don't remember which. I was able to text charitable orgs $10 a pop + an egregious $1-$3 "fee" per $10 donation. And it'd come straight off my balance.

I remember that a few years ago.
    It was T-Mobile.

Well maybe Page Plus did it too.

I didn't know that they also charged a fee for your donation.

I am always sceptical about most charities anyway.
