Yeah, obi's are getting into high demand with the latest round of gv changes. Effectively breaking gv trunks on a* pbx's. Depending on usage, probably cheaper to go with a real itsp than deal with gv's idiocy.

Thanks. I did review bobdevnul's post. It shows results for 2000, but I did not find any recent update there.

OBi200 VoIP Telephone Adapter with Google Voice & SIP (Formerly OBIHAI OBi200)
    $59.99 It shows as Polycom

    It shows 49.99 in Amazon

2PORT VOIP ADAPTER WITH ROUTER SUP ONLY FOR SERVICE PROVIDERS

    at walmart 54.99

    Newegg shows for $100+

Any other good deals , you aware of ?

    Thanks for sharing.

$49.99 for an Obi200 is the lowest going rate right now, as far as I know.

For regular consumers, there is no easy or reliable alternative to an Obihai device for using a GV # as a home phone, as far as I know.

Since Obihai was purchased by Polycom, the semi-regular $29.99 or $34.99 sale prices seem to be no more.

I'm definitely ALWAYS looking for a good deal and/or to pay as little as possible for everything I buy. But in the big picture, $49.99 vs $29.99 is only $20. If you're using it to replace a home phone line, which usually costs around $30/mo minimum, instead of a 1-month payback, it becomes a 1-2/3 month payback, which isn't much of a difference.

So, really, the $20 price increase over the lowest historical sale price is inconsequential, if using it for it's intended purpose.

I don't know if RIMDHoward is still lurking around here, but if so, the Obi200 is currently on sale for $10 cheaper than the Amazon price I posted above:

OBi200 VoIP Telephone Adapter with Google Voice & SIP (Formerly OBIHAI OBi200)

    $39.99 W/ Code EMCTAVD65. Shipping is free.

Thanks for the heads up on the sale price; kind of an annual thing with Newegg I suppose.

I've been thinking about getting a spare one of these as I had electrical storms take one out last year and had to get one at full price!

Yeah, I was thinking about getting a "backup", too. I bought the one I'm using now in 2013.

But do you know how many cheap phones I've purchased two of over the years "just in case"? I'll tell you: a stupid ridiculous number! But even so, adding up the cost of ALL of them, I've spent LESS on phones since 1999 than even ONE iPhone would have cost at release.

    So, yeah...

Yeah, can you believe the price of those "flagship" devices? Criminy!

Pulled the trigger on one of these today, to keep as a spare as previously mentioned. The sale is up for a couple more days.

Got my spare about a week ago.

Interesting how Newegg lists their prices in ads (which I'm seeing on Facebook). The fake MSRP they have from the Obi 200 is $90! Their regular price (now) is $50, and the recent sale price was $40 (I don't speak prices expressed as a penny or a nickle off the dollar).

So even at their regular price, YOU SAVE 44%!

Interesting though, that they have another brand of ATA (analog telephone adapter) from a company called Grandstream, going for $35. I wonder if, especially since Google Voice changed to being an actual SIP service (if I have that correct), this device could do for Google Voice use. Certainly would be a nice alternative. Probably would not have an ObiTalk-style web page interface for configuration (which I know some don't even like).

I know one of you guys can explain it, so come on!

There are those of us running asterisk pbx with gvoice sip trunks. The process is convoluted and involved. Not to mention at this point the only working solution still requires oauth credentials from an actual obi box. Third party firmware with ssh access is needed to obtain those. More details on dslr in the voip subforum. Unless you truly enjoy learning something like this, you're better off with the obi if you absolutely need gv. There are other voip solutions that charge hundredths to tenths of a penny per minute (anveo direct) without all the obi/gv BS.

What do you mean you "find the above deal"?

I posted the same deal when it was $39.99 back on 05-29-19!

    What exactly is your question?

Thanks for your replies. I did not get any email notification upon your 5/29 posting here. I did not see it. I did get an email from slickdeal, so I shared here. I am sorry. I did pick one via this deal. Thanks for thinking about me.

Did your 5/29 deals showed up in slick-deals?
