WiFi Calling is not a feature that requires an App.

iOS supports Wifi calling natively. The issue is that Lucky Mobile doesn't' actually support WiFi calling. The Android based 'wifi calling' app that they tout is just a voip based service - not available to iPhone because Apple will never allow its users to be misled by approving it as a 'WiFi Calling' app.

Except all WiFi calling is really VoIP. Your argument is trash.

Lol. Says a typical Samsung Galaxy user who thinks they can win an argument by oversimplifying the entire concept.

I don't think you can ever positively contribute to this discussion, so why are you here?

I think you misunderstand. Your assumption is trash...;-)

The Lucky app is independent of the built in phone app on iOS. It's just a third-party app that talks to an external VoIP service.

Wifi calling on an iPhone is actually handled through the OS and requires equipment and software to run inside the network specifically for it.
AFAIK, the iOS wifi calling requirements are quite complicated and have to go back through the network core.

Technically VoLTE is also VoIP, but there are major differences in how the network carries the call.

I was under the impression that it was no longer a used option and was now pretty much orphaned. Bell would rather have you on an unlimited calling plan and keep you on the 3G/VoLTE network for stability-sake.

    Cheeri'o...
    Frankie...

Please Note: I do not work for Bell. I also do not work for any wireless retail outlet.
Do not ask me about promotions or offers from wireless providers.
