Either way I'm excited lol. The FirstNet contract finally pushed AT&T into motion on tower upgrades and expansion. Not saying they hadn't been doing that stuff before but I never saw anyone touch the towers in years but this year I saw multiple crews on all of their towers. Of course "5ge" was born and I regularly get the advanced LTE in different parts of town. I can only imagine how their coverage and service will look once they're actually fully built out with FirstNet

Verizon often comes back with speeds similar to tmobile who relies solely on 5x5 LTE band 12 for everyone and everything so you can imagine piss poor.

Now with the roaming agreements with us cellular I'm really blown away. Almost nowhere do I not have useable service anymore and speeds are only going up. So glad we switched from USCC in 2014 to AT&T and not Verizon.

Here in North MA we have exactly the same story. VZW is oversold, most of the people I know have Verizon. My local VZW site is needed to be upgraded years ago, but instead they put more and more small cells in the area.
I also cannot agree more that T-mobile with 5 Mhz B12(700MHz) and now with 5MHz B71(600MHz) is a joke. Rush hours Boston and the area is over-congested with T-mobile while Att gives me almost always great speeds. I just want to add that VZW and Att have power LP generator backups while T-mobile is on batteries. The most we need to be connected when something happens.

I personally found that VZW is way more congested compare to Att.

I've just used USCC roamng with my Att line in Maine and now I do not even need VZW as a backup.

I get it for RI and MA, I don't get it in CT, but I guess it boils down to whatever predecessor company, either Bell Atlantic Mobile or prior to that did better in the area. We've always had SNET/Cingular/AT&T, which is the B-side holder. It's the other way around in the rest of most of the rest of NE, where Verizon is the B-side carrier. Middle- and upper-middle-class people in CT rarely switch wireless providers. Most of the accounts are from the 1990's or were AOL'ed from an account from the 1990's.

Due to being the B-side carrier, AT&T in CT has the best coverage overall. T-Mobile has the best in the denser suburbs and cities, but less in rural areas, Verizon is a close second to AT&T.

If they've got USCC roaming lit up all across New England, that's a game changer for AT&T.

WHOA. They just lit up a bunch of coverage in the Northern part of NH. That used to be a big hole on their map, now it's showing coverage in most of that area. Not sure if it's FirstNET or not, but wow.

AT&T is in a far better spectrum position, they just seem to have more gaps in coverage where I travel compared to Verizon. However Verizon better bid aggressively on the CBRS and C band auctions. I expect both carriers to continue to invest in their networks. It’s all about location, and using both really works well for me.

I read an article that in NYS there's 500 sites planned over the next two years. I believe I posted it in the speedtest thread.

I believe they have until the end of 2022 to reach 2.76 million sq miles of coverage.

Wow. That would put them a bit ahead of Verizon in total coverage, even after you subtract out the coverage outside of the CONUS.

Do you have any info on SW Iowa? THere's a huge hole that has no ATT coverage there.
