Session Based iPad/Tablet Unlimited - Changes are incoming

Hotspot limit implemented on Unlimited Postpaid. Check. Harmon Spark with SIM locking and telematics. Check. IMEI verifications for plan types? Incoming. An overhaul of plan types that allow users to get hotspot devices on unlimited plans through loopholes....

    For sure incoming. Be prepared.

Wow. Quite a lot of “inside” information for a guy on his 1st post.

Care to share where this came from, or is it just rumors and fear mongering?

Don't really care if you believe it or not. Just putting it out there that anyone relying on session based tablet plans for hotspot need to be prepared.

Mind telling us your sources? When this will happen exactly?

it's been floating around here and reddit for a month or more. Just cause a guy has 1 post doesn't mean anything other than he's just signed up. There are plenty guys here with hundreds of posts that still don't know ****.

Still wonder how the IMEI check is gonna affect me since the nighthawk on my Mobley CCU plan was officially upgraded and put on a 2yr agreement from the mobley to the NH when they still had the plan coded as a hotspot plan.

Do you work at ATT? Was there a memo sent out about upcoming changes?

If true it will be interesting to see if they catch my MoFi. They shouldn’t have the IMEI in their database as a hotspot or a tablet. For all they know it could be a foreign iPad or tablet.

I’ve gotta be the guy to ask a dumb question but the OP said “session based” what does that mean?

I use to work for AT&T for a while and I called:

I spoke with advanced tech support, tech support, customer service, and prepaid. Each one could not find this article.
I asked them to check various formats of the search, including “shutdown” “session” “session based” etc.
None of them could find this article. Another interesting note:

When you’re on MyCSP, your search results are always in bold. This search result was for “session based”, yet, it was the word SHUTDOWN
That was highlighted. Every rep on the phone changed their profile views per my request to various roles and all of them
Only found a few articles on the session based plan, the first one being “decision flow”. I also asked every rep
On why MyCSP would ever highlight something in bold in a search that wasn’t searched for, and they said that
MyCSP doesn’t work that way (it also never worked that way when I was there either).

Can the OP post the entire article and the MyCSP number?

I'm in the same boat. I believe someone mentioned/suggested adding your current IMEI's to your plan a while back. Can we do that with our current MOFI's?

If this is real, it's a troubling finale to a series of baffling decisions by AT&T management.
