    T-Mobile In-flight Texting

I used this on a flight. I was wondering, if I brought a second phone with no service and entered a different T-Mobile number, would I get another hour of data?

This is exactly what I do! I use the numbers for the other lines on my account.

I assume that all the numbers used will have to be valid t-mobile lines which have this feature (include gogo service).

Would it be possible to tether, via Bluetooth, from a smartphone to a laptop computer?

My experience is: No. You can’t tether another device to the free hour. I travel with a wifi media sharing device which also allows Wi-Fi pass through and sharing. On the free plan, only my phone works. If I try to share with my laptop, everything stops. I THINK it knows the OS, and knows I went from iOS to Windows.

On a paid session, this doesn’t happen.

Correct....after the hour your done. GOGO remembers the MAC address and it will not let you enter another phone number. If you use another phone and another phone number then techincally yes you can get away with it.

I can verify the that the phone doens't have to even have a t-mobile sim. For example, I have an iPhone 8 with T-Mobile and XS with Verizon. Most of the time I use my Verizon XS - I simply click on t-mobile customer, then enter the phone number from my 8 and everything works fine.

If you travel alot, its worth adding the $10-$15 One Plus to your account and getting unlimited GOGO, thats way cheaper than the plans GOGO sells and you'll get faster data when roaming international

Also, on one flight I tied using our WiFi-only iPad, instead of a phone. It didn't work.
