Is Verizon shutting down CDMA early?

So I was just curious as to what 3G speeds are in an area I visit often. I shut off LTE all together and I’m surprised to not pick up a signal. I toggled airplane mode on and then back off. Restarted my iPhone. Still no service. Anyone noticing no 3G or 1x in their area?

    Here’s the evidence:

CDMA is still in my area. Nationwide it will not be shutdown before 2020

Still works just fine here, Speedtest and all.

We still have 15 months before the shutdown begins. Good thing, considering some medical devices still use 3G.

If you turn LTE to data only, does it fail to make calls?

If you had it before, maybe there is an outage.
iPhone 11 is my current primary phone. I have older model iPhones and Moto phones available on other lines. Currently prepaid, though would consider postpaid on right plan.

Verizon hasn’t been a site with CDMA in years.

Funny we should talk about this. Got to see a data center last week. The 3G equipment footprint is really small compared to the 4G one.

Yeah I read his comment wrong. Vzw could shutting down 3G. 1x not likely until 2020. Who knows

3G hasn't been in my area for the last 6 months. Only see 1X on a backup TracFone.

The cardiac heart monitors we use on our ambulances still use 3G data and Verizon knows it. Said they aren’t even considering early shutdown until 4G modems are ready, and even then don’t expect it to happen quickly.

I'm pretty sure, i have a backup TracFone on Verizon and it only connects to 1X now vs 3G
