Wondering if this will all work. I'm currently with Virgin Mobile but looking to pre-order the Mate 20 Pro through Koodo.
My GF is already with Koodo so she want's me to use her refer a friend thing.
So my question is, am I able to do the refer a friend, pre-order the phone, do the QC 56 loophole but in the end still keeping my current phone number?
Just not sure how to go about it, thanks guys!

Yes, it should work. Use your GF's referral to open a new Koodo line with a local plan in your province with SIM card only (BYOD). Once you register in the Self Serve, go ahead and pre-order the phone. Just to be safe, wait for the phone to arrive. Then change the Koodo number to QC, wait for the next billing cycle and change the plan to $56 QC. Then port your Virgin number the next day.

You just shot yourself in the foot here (although congrat on actually responding to the 3rd post, no answer on the prev 2?)

They are not Walmart employees (heck even store will tell you that)
And policy is set by head office

Although to your exact example he sounds new and will prob get in crap for doing that activation
    Koodo $40 Canada Wide + 8GB + 1000 Intl LD
    Public $120 Province Wide + 12GB - $6 Autopay - $12 Loyalty - $45 Refer = $19 per Month
    Freedom $35 ($37-BTS) North America Wide + 8GB + 1GB Roaming

Ok so he's a Koodo employee. I bet nothing will happen to him. Since I'm with Telus now, I can easily find out if he gets any kind of reprimand.

My next question is do you think the black friday deals coming up are going to be better than the QC plan?
or will there be QC black friday deals that I could access online?

He should not be a Koodo employee either if he is inside a Walmart

Maybe you should try asking them next time? (although if you actually work "with" Telus you really should know this already...)

Change number to QC, then change plan in the new billing cycle. Port your existing number to Koodo prepaid or to Public Mobile and then port it on top of the new line.

I am in a similar position with the MB plan in ON. I want to move to the QC and get a P20 pro. Can all these steps be done from the koodo account with multiple lines or do I have a to open multiple accounts, with different addresses and credit cards?

HI. I bought this new plan BYOD $56/10GB. and I took a local Montreal 514 number.
Will it let me port my Vancouver BC 604 number without converting it to BC price? My billing is also with a BC address.

Yes. Just follow the instruction on the first page. Wait for your 1st billing cycle.

I set koodo webpage for Quebec, I signed up with my ON address, and I got a quebec plan with a quebec number and a phone.

The phone shipped out today to my ON address and the plan on the order tracking page is still the quebec plan.
I guess I just have to port the ON number once I get the phone.

    I hope this works out.

Oke that did not work. The phone would not activate. I had to call Koodo and they moved me to an on plan.

Ah, I was hoping you were going to get your QC plan with your new phone. Unfortunately, I haven't heard of anyone being able to do this before.

Oh and the billing cycle ends in a month from the activation day so I have to wait till the 21st of Jan to change to the Quebec plan.

Didn't see this thread before ☹️

I just signed up via website. I pick qc page /plan/ and added iPhone XR. On 2 year tab.

So as per your post I will not be able to activate phone (or activate sim?)? Will have to change to BC plan, then activate, wait for billing cycle and change to qc plan, then wait another billing cycle and port my BC number?

That said, I don't mind waiting to activate the phone till everything is said and done. (Port my BC number onto koodo).

So wondering. If I am still able to make use of this.

Get my koodo sim, signed up via website on koodo qc plan (get phone and sim shipped), activate SIM, post billing cycle port my BC number and keep plan, Once port is completed I can active the iPhone.

Can QC sim be activated in BC, or is this the issue?
