Question Cloning my failing Kyocera 2235

Hello all. I have an old CDMA Kyocera 2235 I would like to clone for backup (not power simultaneously). I purchased a second new in box and the provider refuses to transfer the account. I have the data cable and am hoping someone can assist. I am technically literate aside this operation. Thank you.

Are you trying to backup the content of the old phone or have the same phone # assigned to 2 different handsets ?

Are you in the US ? If so, no US carrier will assist you to "clone" a phone as it would be considered "illegal".
    Just another day in paradise.....
