Verizon can do what they want. As long as they aren’t breaking any laws, there is not problem with it.

They are a capitalistic business and will take necessary steps to protect their investment.

As a free consumer, you are free to take your business elsewhere and tell Verizon to screw off.

No it’s not. All that does is cause companies to continue to implement more “unfair” rules to prevent moochers from stealing virtual network assets.

If people start bypassing video throttling with VPN, then Verizon will start limiting VPN usage. All because of people trying to exploit loopholes.

Why are there so many corporate shills on these forums? It's not like they're getting paid to kiss Verizon's a** every time they do something anti-consumer.

Since it’s so easy to start a wireless company, why haven’t any of the armchair CEOs on this board started one? $40 for unlimited any and everything!! Let’s see how long your wireless startup would last before you bankrupt!

You have no better response than this?

Its okay to do something unethical because you disagree with whatever it is you’re going against? Bravo.

QFT! There are no rational discussions on this forum anymore. It’s either someone else’s way, or a bunch of pouting and name calling.

Reddit is getting to be my go to lately..

You two can just say you don't have a real counter-argument. You're allowed to do that. :)

The counter argument would be to not do unethical things to get back at "big bad Verizon" and take your business elsewhere.

You aren't required to do business with an unethical company. You can be an adult and make a better financial decision by taking your business to a company like T-Mobile who doesn't throttle video after you pay the premium.

It's not easy to start a MNO at this point, even if you had the $$$$$$$$ to build your own network you would be starting out from scratch against 4(3?) other companies that already have nationwide coverage.

What you see a lot of lately is new MVNOs (the V is important) they are primarily just middlemen between you one of the major MNOs.

Being MVNOs also severely restricts what they can do both in support and service offerings.

Not that MNO support is usually all that great anyway. MVNOs have problems offering comparable unlimited plans to MNOs

However it seems that anyone can start and run their own MVNO rather easily and comparatively (against starting a MNO) very cheaply.

The main reason is unlimited everything isn't viable at $40/mo although it probably is at $90-$100/mo. The second reason is to make such an offering you would have to be running a MNO and very few have the funds to make such a venture.

Also likely doesn't cover your house, work inside your house, or provide all the services you need. For example for whatever reason tmo is the only one out of the big four to not offer a wireless home phone.
Last I checked they also didn't allow hotspot devices to be added to their unlimited plans.

love to be willfully-obtuse about what a de-facto monopoly means, and that many, many people cannot have a functional cell phone unless they use Verizon

Why are there so many people that think Verizon is evil and greedy and yet instead of leaving they continue to write check to the evil and greedy company each month then complain on the internet and are continually shocked that said evil and greedy company is still evil and greedy?

Also why are their people that if you don't agree with them accuse you of being a shill? Maybe these people are shills of other carriers try to get new customers. Hmmmm.

You literally have no argument other than you feel like it’s ok to break the TOS if you perceive the company wronging you.
