Question Can Verizon Galaxy S7 used on Sprint?

    Hello,

I gifted my old S7 from Verizon to my friend and when he went to Sprint to get SIM card that will fit he was told that phone cannot be used on Sprint?
I know its unlocked because I've used it overseas and with AT&T here.

    TIA

No, the Verizon S7 does not have the right bands for Sprint unfortunately. It is not on the list of eligible devices.

I’m fairly certain if you flash the sprint firmware it will unlock the sprint bands. Now if they activate it is a different story.

    Agreed.

Unfortunately Sprint has rigid up-front IMEI eligibility checking, much stricter than some other carriers, and they will not add the IMEI (which will give it away as a Verizon model) to the database because they are not willing to take into account that it has been flashed.

The poster can try the IMEI in the checkers at https://www.sprint.com/en/landings/b...wn-phone.html? and on Sprint MVNOs such as Tello, and they will all reject it for use on Sprint.

A VERY few people have convinced a Sprint store manager to whitelist such a flashed phone in the past, but it would be a huge persuasion effort and unlikely to succeed. They are doing it in fewer and fewer cases these days.

Thanks guys! I've gave up and will go some other carrier that will accept the phone as unlocked. Thanks goodness that Sprint is not the only game in town
