ZTE WF721C locks sims with a pincode?

I put an active Telus sim card in a ZTE WF721 that was originally from Telus.
I plugged a phone in to it and tested it, it received calls and worked correctly.
But after putting the sim card back in the iphone it was originally from, the iphone now says the sim is "sim locked"
This sim is disabled until I can get ahold of a telus rep to fix it or provision a new sim card.
Is there a default pin that these devices set?
It says I get 3 tries.

    Thanks

edit: There has never been a pin code on this sim card before.

Welcome to Chinese Government crap. I'll never buy ZTE, MOTO, xaiomi, wah wei, Lenovo, etc.
    Un-Rogered, and getting better 'value'.

'Chinese Government crap'?! Pretty sure this is a configuration Telus specifically requested for all of their Hub products since the original Netcomm 'Telus' SmartHub - to prevent people using Hub plans on a smartphone.

Oops, sorry. I thought it was a smart phone.
