The rates on the "long distance saver" are being increased by 400-500%.

Basically Koodo is jacking up the rates on its LD saver pack and making them 4-5X the current amount.

    Example:

USA goes from $0.05/min to $0.20/min
Most of europe goes from $0.05/min to about $0.15/min ish

It is now reflected on the koodo website.

Seriously who uses this? All calls to the US are free through Google Hangouts, either on your smartphone or in a browser from any computer. Who pays for calls to the US???

For international calls there are numerous cheap options. Not to mention Skype, Viber, WhatsApp...

People cannot always these free voip apps calling services. A lot of countries block these apps for calls to get more business for these telecom companies.

I have the $10 US add-on, and the free bonus Intl add-on for 9 countries. I'm glad I do.
    Un-Rogered, and getting better 'value'.

Doesn't matter who uses them. It's never good to take away features and hike prices like that.

Yea, but they make that back in 2 months. This is pure gouging for 'shareholder value', and those 'record profits'.

Everyone wanted unrestricted use of the devices they've paid for.

Exactly this. And, it's the main reason I've stayed with Google devices aside from pure Android.

Yep, I took the original off for a while because I used hangouts so much, and is great quality. I wasn't surprised too much to see the 'new' plan.
