LG V20 LS997 Looking for flashing assistance\hand holding.

I recently acquired an LG V20 which boots as a Boost Mobile phone. The phone is pretty buggy but I was able to get it to activate on Tello. I was told that the phone was originally a Sprint phone and someone tried flashing it to Boost Mobile but it failed. My hope is that I can flash it back to Sprint (I don’t know for sure that the phone was born as a Sprint device, nor do I know if it matters) and that will cure the buggy behavior.

Any help would be appreciated. Below I’ll list everything I know that might help you to help me.

I have tried to boot to the recovery console a few time but I only get a blank black screen or a reboot. One time I tried and got stuck in a boot-loop for a short while, I’m a little scared to try that again.

1) can anyone else chime in on XDA Developers being the best place to take my issue to?

2) zapjb, if you are correct and XDA Developers gets me fixed up, then my time was not wasted . Thanks for the suggestion.
