Thanks for response. So in reality the 350$ phone ends up costing close to $400 adding all the taxes and other expenses.

But I'd hate to lose the required initial $30 monthly charge.
You can port a t-mobile number to an existing Cricket account, not activate the new SIM but use an existing SIM and after 30 days the new line will expire and drop off the account. The $30 credit will be added to the existing account.

Is the iphone sold by Cricket locked to Cricket after you insert the SIM? or is it locked before that?

But if I port in to the existing account that will kill my grandfatherered plan. Is that correct?

Total cost for iphone 7 32 gb for me should be 350+21 (6% tax)+30 monthly charge + 5 ebay tmobile number. Total cost comes out to $406. Guess it's still cheaper than buying somewhere else even though it would be locked to cricket.

One alternative is to buy an unlocked Apple refurbished iPhone 7 32gb which would cost you around $530 with tax.

Question about the new ported line expiring / dropping off:

If you have autopay setup for the monthly discount, won't the new line automatically renew and get charged on my c card? Do you have to turn off autopay? Or manually cancel the new line before the billing date?

Also, any worn on whether or not this deal will be extended beyond tomorrow???

    TIA for clarification!

Do NOT activate the new SIM card that comes with the phone. That is what activates the new line.

So, can you please clarify if I port into existing cricket account that has 5 lines and don't activate the new sim, 5 lines still remain and 6th line is not added automatically?? Sorry for all the stupid questions. If thats correct, I then can port into friend's cricket account to get the discounted iphone 7, without activating the sim, my friend's account gets 30 credit and he still keeps his 5 lines. Correct??
