    US Cellular Speedtests

I know there aren't many USCC customers on here but it can still be interesting.

Here is probably the best native LTE speeds I've seen from USCC. Got this today on the turnpike between Beckley and Charleston, WV NOT far from Pax. I think this was band 12 10 MHz no CA.

That was on a real USCC tower. Just a few minutes before you cut down to Sprint roaming. I've noticed better speeds overall in Fayette County. I have gotten better speeds while roaming though since it's more on the edge of their coverage area. Probably not many people on this tower since it's not a big area around the tower to my knowledge.

Yeah, it definitely is. Our big 4 here is AT&T, Sprint, USCC, and Verizon. T-Mobile doesn't exist here for some reason. The only other carrier that I have major testing on is Sprint. I have gotten better with Sprint. I usually do get better speeds on Sprint. This test really surprised me. It would be nice if it was like that all the time for the price it costs for their service in my area. They need more towers is what they need. I would rather be on Sprint over this USCC but I can't. I think half of you bill is going to roaming probably because their prices make no sense for what you're getting as native coverage. And when you see the map and it looks like USCC has a good edge. They might have a bit of an edge from their 800 MHz CDMA, but not too far ahead of Sprint and only in certain areas, I know a place with supposedly "best" call quality and there are times where I'm roaming and the phone never rings, and forget a native 4G signal unless you're outside or put the phone in an open window, only Sprint roaming and weak evdo and 1x inside both of which are similar in speed due to the weak signal. Sprint down there is fine actually getting 4G in the house.

That is the best speed I've ever seen on USCC. I haven't had them as a primary provider in years, but do activate a prepaid line about three months of the year. Before they implemented unlimited plans, I never saw over 15Mbps down/up. With the unlimited data plan, 1.5Mbps is it.

Yeah. I usually see about 10-15 down. Then the upload ends up not doing anything and just shows a number at the end. I occasionay get about 20-25 or so. My record used to be 26 before. I have only gotten 2 tests ever over 30. Both of them were in another county.

Sprint is a no show in our county, in fact, they're the only carrier with a license here that has yet to build out. As for coverage, USCC is 1st, though Verizon is a VERY close 2nd, with AT&T at third and T-Mobile at a close 4th. We're part of USCC's Northwest Market (NorCal, OR, WA).

I think it’s weird that Sprint hasn’t built out in so many places and has good coverage in places you wouldn’t expect. I think here though that was mostly helped by Shentel and their nTelos buyout. I remember they weren’t very good here before that. T-Mobile is our no show here which I think is stupid considering how big they have become. They have been starting into other parts of the state though, but I’ve got a feeling they want to rely on USCC when their VOLTE comes out here based on the looks of their current coverage maps.

Interesting results and confirms for me that USCC are improving their service and your speed test kind of confirms.

    Thanks for posting.

Yeah. I have seen a test on RootMetrics give 50 before in Fayetteville so I don't know whether this was just a lucky test and Fayette County is just better for some reason of if they are actually improving their network and Fayette County is getting all the improvements. Where I live in Raleigh County I haven't really seen any improvement since I've had them and I've had them since 2014.

Here is a test I did in front of Kohl's in Beckley, WV. Not the best test I've ever seen at all, really it's kinda lower than normal. It's still I think kinda funny to see matching numbers though. Seems to be band 12 10 MHz with maybe band 2 5 MHz CA but I'm not sure about the CA because it seems to always be going in and out for some reason.
