Just did an online chat who extended my contract for 2 years!

I have a GUDP on contract that was going to expire tomorrow. I've read through all of the threads in regards to the "Loyalty Plan" and how to extend your contract for a year. I thought I'd try the online chat, and within 20 minutes the very nice agent extended my contract by 730 days. Hope this helps others.

Do you know what feature code was added? That's strange, is it business account or personal? Will appreciate if you can call and ask feature code that was added

My contract end date is on October 15, 2017, already past. Billing cycle is on the 13th of every month. Is it still possible? I haven't received my bill with the $20 increase yet.

That's correct. Should be on your this month bill or the following.

Do you mean that I could still avoid the $20 price hike if I get them to extend it before the next bill is generated on the 13th?

Would also like more details. My GUDP line is useful to me in several ways, and a 2-yr contract extension would be preferable to a 1-yr, for sure.

When I saw the FUDP was going away I switched from my GUDP.
My contract was set to expire in Oct.
I was also paying to tether for one phone because I definitely needed it. Phones are getting harder too root.
That was one of my motivations. Rooting to tether or buying unbranded is getting to be a pain.
With the prospect of $80 added to my bill (4 lines of GUDP) I went for the FUDP.
I know the limitations, but It's still cheaper even with my corporate discount on the old plan and the $20/line loyalty that was added way back when.
My bill for four lines including insurance on three lines is less than $220. Before it was about the same before tethering costs.
So for me it's a win. YMMV.
Good intentions will always be pleaded for every assumption of authority. It is hardly too strong to say that the Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions. There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters. -- Daniel Webster

Verizon probably notice some people are cancelling due to the $20 price increase. I cancelled 3 lines because of the $20 price increase.
    Current carrier: Sprint (11/01/2017)
    Previous carriers: T-mobile & Verizon

I'm certainly no expert, but I have to believe that was the intention all along. Raise the ancient UDP price to get one of 3 reactions: 1) People stay and they make $240 more per year, 2) People move on to a newer plan, as the poster above did, or 3) They just leave.

Well, since I didn't get back on a contract fast enough due to lack of useful info here at HoFo, VZW have just hit me with the $20 increase on my bill.
