The TELUS Store at the Toronto Eaton Centre told me it was effective Wednesday, March 14.

I bought the white Essential PH-1 from them today. I really liked it in the TELUS Store!

It's an amazing device, and sweeter yet at that price point. Enjoy.
    Un-Rogered, and getting better 'value'.

I wasn't going to bother buying the camera for it but at $50 I figured I was willing to give it a try so I ordered it and will give it a shot.

I finally sprung for an Essential, and similarly, the clearance pricing on the 360 cam convinced me to grab one as well. As has been said in many a review and HoFo comment, the phone is a lot nicer in person. No complaints on audio quality (though my calling has been limited so far), feels a lot snappier than my S7 even though it's just a hop from Snapdragon 820 to 835. Camera is just okay, but part of that impression may be due to the more subtle and realistic colour rendering compared to the quite saturated Samsung. Going to have to try the Pixel cam apk one of these days.

Bought the cam today, but haven't played wit it yet. Yeah, for $50, I have nothing to lose.

Anybody on the fence about this phone (and/or 360 cam) best get off your butts and grab one before the Telus-priced ones are gone.

Anyone know and have tested, on how to get into the SERVICE MODE on the Essential PH-1?

Service mode allows you to change up LTE bands etc. Like force certain band(s) and leave out others etc, its easily accessible on devices like Samsung but I am unable to find a "Secret Code" that works on the Essential PH-1.

Please dont waste time doing the guess work and throwing random replies, its only helpful if you know its working 100% as I've done decent amount of searching around google.

No. You can't access that on Essential phone. Another one of the reasons on top of a few I already had to return it.

I just use network signal guru...much better than any built in field test. You will need root, though

*#*#4636#*#* works for me on Oreo 8.1.0.

Yes but unlike on Samsung's it doesnt actually let you lock into Individual LTE bands etc. Its not that useful of a menu on the Essential. On Samsung's I've seen it to give users lots more control of the radio (maybe it was a different menu but I am not aware of any other one that is accessible on the Essential PH-1)

Does the *#*#4636#*#* gives the bands in use and CA info?
