My guess is sb will prob look for other deals.

TMobile prob wouldn't give up control (and they shouldn't) since TMobile is doing well compared to sprint

Huge news. Very interesting it's SoftBank calling it off. Wonder what TMobile decided to do next also. They obviously have some reservations on being able to compete long term without a merger, or else they wouldn't have engaged sprint for so long. Be interesting to see if they try to find someone else also.

I'm not shocked. As I said they clearly have some reservations on going at it alone.

Celebrate.. Great news. Sprint would have damaged T-Mobile with $60 Billion Debt they owe.

Along with control I bet TM wouldn't bail out Son.

    It's great news!

Or he got a better offer from someone else. Guess he's not as eager to just do anything for a merger as some had thought. The guys a multi billionaire for a reason. If it is sprint that called it off it also raises the question, did sprint find something in tmobiles books they didn't quite like? The answer is likely no, it likely is sprint just wanting more than TMobile was willing to pay, but it does raise the question. To think that none of these companies would practice, I'll call it shady, financing or accounting to help pad quarterly reports is wrong. They all would, and likely to varying degrees do or have.

Guess it depends who you believe. MSNBC is reporting SoftBank isn't walking away from merger talks. So who knows. I can't imagine investors for either company would be thrilled with this news. Both stocks dropped like rocks once the original article came out.
