Any problem with the side buttons (on/off, volume) ? Those buttons are more inline (don't stick out much) with the enclosure on my new one then my old one.
How's it do sliding into a pocket ? Thx

The buttons line up well, but are a little hard to push. I also had https://www.amzn.com/B073YCTD4Y when I had my US Cellular version E4, and it was also a good case, but the buttons were a little hard to push with that one, too. It slides in/out of front pants pockets just fine.

If anyone is really interested in trying to get a Moto E4 XT1768, and if there are none at your local Walmart stores for $30, you could also check your local Target stores, where you might be able to find one for $38.98, which is still a pretty good price. https://brickseek.com/target-invento...ku=080-06-1723

    Uh oh.......

Must stay away from Target until the ones in both of the Target stores near me are out of stock.

Has anyone with the XT1767 Vzw version gotten the February 1, 2019 Android security patch level?

My XT1768 is still on the January 1, 2019 Android security patch level with no update available.

My unlocked XT1767 using an Xfinity SIM got the Feb update on May 6. I don't have my factory unlocked XT1768 to hand, but I don't think it has updated yet; it generally trails the XT1767 by a couple of weeks.

Updated a unlocked XT1767 VZW prepaid version with Tmo Sim on Sunday. Pop up alert appeared early last Tues. Postponed update waiting for another post to confirm it was safe. By Sunday, with no other posts, I updated it with no issues.

Thanks. I had seen it for the Vzw XT1767 announced on 5/8/19, I think.

My XT1768 just received the notice about 20 minutes ago. I'm installing it now.

I am a little disappointed that it only updated to the February 1, 2019 Android security patch level, but at least it's something!

I'm really surprised they are still doing any updates.

I know what you mean, and you're right, of course.

But remember, I'm coming from a LG Phoenix 2 that was released in May, 2016, that I purchased for $29.99 in November, 2016, that had updates not only from Marshmallow to Nougat, but security updates all the way through August, 2018, which included the July 1, 2018 Android security patch level.

Yes, I realize that I purchased the $29.99 LG Phoenix 2 much earlier in it's life cycle than this $30 Moto E4 XT1768, which was released in July, 2017.

But I can still wish and hope, right, lol?

Thanks for the post about the update. I never have data on and just occasionally wifi. Checked and both my E4s updated this am. Back when I bought the 2 at the Walmart $30 I activated the one with the newest build date (Aug '18). It went through I think 6 updates right off the bat starting with I think March '18. I would have thought with a build of August it wouldn't go back much before that for an update.

    You're welcome.

You're lucky with your August, 2018, build date. The date on the box the $30 E4 I'm currently using is October, 2017. I think there were around 9 or 10 security updates when I set mine up!

One thing that could use improvement on the Moto E4 XT1768 are the limited and not especially likeable alarm, notification, and ringtones, at least in comparison to my LG Phoenix 2.

I copied all of the tones, which were all ogg files, from my Phoenix 2 into the appropriate folders on my Moto E4, and while the notifications and ringtones were selectable and usable, the alarm tones were not selectable.

The Moto E4 can use ogg files just fine for notification and ringtones, but apparently not for alarm tones.

Anyway, I converted one of the LG ogg alarm tone files to an mp3 file, put it into the appropriate folder on my E4, and then it WAS selectable and useable.

Very strange, but at least I got the alarm tone back that I wanted to use!

Odd since all the alarm tones on my E4+ are ogg files.

    Check /system/media/audio/alarms

Maybe only system folder can be ogg?
    would be odd though.

Actually looked a bit more. The sound picker is the problem.

If you enable "show internal storage" in the picker, then navigate to internal storage and folder (like Alarms) you can see/select the ogg file. But by default it doesn't show all the files.

It does show ogg files in Ringtones and Notifications. And it shows mp3 files in Alarms.

Hmmm...is your E4 Plus rooted? I can't seem to see anything at system/media/audio/alarms . I CAN see the folders and files at that location on my LG Phoenix 2, but as I understand it, Motorola/Lenovo has restricted that ability unless the device is rooted.

Thanks for the tip about the sound picker needing to be set for "Show internal storage". I failed to mention it before, but previously, I had to have the mp3 alarm sound file stored on my SD card to pick it.

Unfortunately, even now being able to see the ogg files on my internal storage instead of only on the SD card, I still can't pick them for an alarm sound.

Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks!

    EDIT:
I just reread the last several sentences of your post again, and I think I need clarification. Do you see ogg files for alarm sounds, or are the files only mp3 files? And are you able to choose ogg files for your alarm sounds? Thanks again.
