    We can now Change Call Display Name ourself???

    Fido seems to have quietly launched a new ability to change your Call Display Name by yourself. Has anyone tried it? They even promote in their ads, that you can make it something fun like "Batman".

    Has anyone tried this? Will it mess anything up on my account? Currently I have an alternate call display name (other than my real name) already but I wouldn't mind changing it to something else. I just don't want anything to F up and go back to my real name.

    Hey Mark2000!

    I'll jump in on this one!

    Changing your outgoing call display will not affect anything else on your account except the name people see when you give them a call. Give it a try! You can make the change yourself through My Account on Fido.ca.

    I have 2 lines on my account. I remember then back from the first time I had both no that i called cs to set on my no i use to be displayed my name and on the other to be displayed my wife's.

    I'm not new to Fido but I am new to this forum... Been a FIDO Customer for about 15 years. I got a new phone about 8 weeks ago and the "nice young man" at Walmart ported my Sim card from the old phone to the new one. Everything is working fine EXCEPT my "outbound display name" needs a small change. The problem is: I cannot do this myself... I know what you're going to say : yes, you can change this yourself by logging into your Fido account and following these steps..... blah blah blah.. Yes it SHOULD WORK but it DOES NOT, because the menu I am supposed to see (QUICK ACTIONS SECTION) does NOT show up.. I've tried on my phone and on my home computer, many many times with no success. I am a retired IT Specialist and I know how to follow menus and flow charts but this particular menu does not come up... I have also tried calling FIDO support, I explain the situation to the Support person, they assure me that they have made the change for me, and it will "show up" in 24 hours. I've been told this 5 times over the past 5 weeks, but the change has NOT shown up, EVER. Out of frustration and desperation, I am looking for a possible solution in this forum... but it appears that the last entry made was on 09-10-2017. Current date is Jan 7/2022. Is this forum still alive ?? And what has happened to FIDO support ?

    @Paul-B have you disabled all ad-blockers & extensions?

    Hello zapjb, never thought of that but yes I just disabled Ad-Block and tried again.. No change..

    Do you have access to My Account as an Account Holder or as a Subscriber?

    Hi Fritz, to be honest I don't know what my access is. I'm starting to think that because I'm a pre-paid Customer, this may be the reason why I'm not seeing the menu(s) I need.

    In Canada most Postpaid cell phone companies that offer Prepaid service treat Prepaid customers as Second Class Citizens.

    Also you mentioned you are an it professional so why use Garbage Fido Prepaid Service. There are much better Prepaid Services offered by Telus, Koodo, Public Mobile & Lucky Mobile and if you are in QC and Ottawa region look into Fizz also if you are in any major cities of BC, AB & ON look into Freedom Mobile.
