There were a lot of posts on the topic of damaged SIM trays on the BSCF. That procedure is not something I personally would want to attempt, but good to see it.

Aside, I gather the best prevention advice in general is don't use cut down cards and avoid using adapters. I guess some do it without incident, but still looks to me that it's wise to use a new SIM instead.

Another solution to this issue:
Best way to bring out your SIM Card adapter properly , Just pic a plastic stick like Guitar stick and cut it as it can be easily insert inside the Sim Card Slot. Put this Stick in between the sim card slot and adapter so that the gap of of adapter will be fulfilled and then pull out your Adapter easily.

I recently ruined a perfectly good 9790 by trying to insert a Micro SIM in a Mini adapter. I'm not too sure what went wrong but the 'teeth' were apparently damaged.

Shame, I like that phone.
