    I just mainly wanted the ability, in case of emergency, of enabling the hotspot in case my home internet went out, or potentially in a hotel when the hotel wi-fi was terrible.
    8-9 mbps hotspot normally although lately it’s been about 2x faster.

    So not the unlimited choice I was seeing. I may someday see whether it is worth the hassle of trying to talk the local store into giving me this plan. Once I port from my T-Mobile postpaid plan in about 10 days my 2 phone lines will be about $29 a month, paid annually, making my $35 iPad plan seem expensive. I won’t have much spare data anymore on phone for hotspot use.
    iPhone 11 is my current primary phone. But I have more phones than lines. Back to only Prepaid with the changes in the economy.

    If not showing some common arbitrary limit like 3mb no matter the time then the speeds are likely depending on congestion, the band support of the device, or location. Still seems like some of the hot spot devices on amazon: at least the cheaper ones, can be limited

    Im using ZTE hotspot and get an average of 100Mbps.

    So you speeds will very on what device you are using, tower location and how outdated the tower is. With Netgear nighthawk, I would get up to 200Mbps, but I sold the device do to constant and random reboots.

    they were "unable to process my payment" sigh and my password was reset by them forcefully and I can't reset it because I have no idea what the IMEI I used was. is there a specific phone number to call for the ipad plan?
    Mourning the loss of my Nextel i325 but still using a bag phone.

    Try using then buy a session website and use iccid for resetting password. That should work. However you need to speak to Advanced tech support to reset password etc.

    I got lucky with a CSR, although for some reason since my account dates back to 2010 it’s weirdly treated as postpaid in their system.

    Anyway the CSR was eventually able to get into the account and read off the IMEI which I made sure to print screen after getting back into the account.

    As for the credit card not working I haven’t figured out what happened but I moved in the last year and never changed the address so maybe that was it. AT&T’s system is still very picky about the address.
