Hmmmmmm........I'm still using 8.1, do you think that has something to do with it? I"m reading a lot of the comments on the Messenger App and people are complaining of it no longer being supported. Maybe I should upgrade to Windows 10?

My phones that don't have a problem with Messenger are running 8.1.
I tried rolling back to 8.1 on the ones running Windows 10 and that didn't work for me.
Stick with 8.1 if you can.
I don't even fire up the ones running Windows 10 anymore.

I agree. If 8.1 works well for you, then stick with it. Honestly, my windows phone is not my daily driver. I just turn it on occasionally. And use it for international travel because of all the international LTE bands my 650 RM-1154 dual SIM 2 supports. It has a few more than my ASUS Zenfone 2.

I just deleted the messenger app and installed it, this is the message I'm getting from Messenger: "Thank you for using Facebook to message your friends. We regret to inform you that starting today, March 28th, messaging will no longer be supported on the version of the app you're currently using. To continue to send and receive messages from Facebook on your phone, please update your facebook app to the latest version." It gives me a link to the app in the app store, but will not let me install it. As far as I know, I have the latest version of the FB app as well. I even deleted the and reinstalled that app. I don't get it.

May be you can ask those that are still using it on 8.1 to confirm their version. What phone are you using?

I'm using my Lumia 640 with 8.1 installed. When I go to the FB app link Messenger provides, it says "This app does not work on your device". Oh brother.
Which version of Windows is everyone else using on their phone?

I updated the Facebook app a few weeks ago and Messenger works great. Lumia 640.
I didn't update it on my 640xl and it works without any problem.
My 640 is an unlocked GoPhone and my 640xl is an international unlocked single SIM that I got from Amazon.
All are on T-Mobile prepaid.

Yep. The Lumia 650 is a pretty nice device. However, the lack of apps means I cannot use a windows phone as my main device.
