New faster international data speed (Even if you don't have T-Mobile One)?

    Hi all,

I just read this article from Android Police and it says that even the grandfathered Simple Choice plans will get 256k international data (instead of 128k). I can't find this info anywhere else.

    http://www.androidpolice.com/2017/02/17/t-mobile-one-boosts-international-data-speeds-lowers-price-plus-add/

Does anyone know if this is true? I have the 10gb high speed simple choice (currently upgraded to Unlimited until 2/2018). Would I be one of those grandfathered users?

I think the article means SC users get the international perks of 20 cent calls, unlimited text, unlimited (128Kbps) data while the One users get 256Kbps.

Simple choice already has these benefits. Would be cool if they just gave us 256kbps international

This is what makes it unclear:

T-Mobile offers roaming in more than 140 countries free with ONE (and grandfathered Simple Choice plans). Previously that was limited to 128Kbps 2G. Now, it'll be faster 2G at up to 256Kbps (Tmo calls this 3G, but that's a lie). It's unclear it this will apply to older plans too. Actual speeds will vary based on the quality of the local network.

I know AP doesn't know for sure, but they make it sound like we're getting 256k now...
