    1000-Text-message $5 card now adding 2000 texts?

I added the $5 1000-text card to one of my BYOP accounts, and not 1000 but 2000 texts were added to the text bucket. I haven't seen any ad or announcement regarding this yet. The TF site still states that the card is good for 1000 texts. This brings the cost of text messages down to 0.25c (or 400 texts per $1, excluding taxes).

Has anyone experienced this too? I hope it wasn't just a glitch but a permanent rate change which is very welcome.

I have similar experience -- Today TracFone gave me X2 of remaining each buckets: data, text, voice doubled.

Doh, I just tried twice, once through the app, once through the site, only 1000 each. On the plus side I don't have to buy texts for the next year....

So did a TracFone CSR do the doubling or the website? Nice going away gift they gave you .
    Cheers!

They are most likely competing with the likes of Republic Wireless or other MVNO companies that are offering dirt cheap rates. I've been seeing a lot of these companies in my FB news feed as suggested posts lately so anything is possible

If you ported out, your account balance is considered ZEROed out and no longer valid. It is a deactivated account.

However, it can be reactivated with a new number within sixty days of the porting-out.

(Confirmed by a TF CSR and other TF personnel.) Please see this thread:

    http://www.howardforums.com/showthre...-is-ported-out

Haven't ported-out yet, but will be doing it some time this month.

I would suggest to edesgatre to ask for a new for number for the account, have the balances reinstated, then offer it for sale.

    Hello, edesgatre.

As people say colloquially, "you done good."

You got a little bit of a haircut on the buckets, but it could have been much worse. If you care to, look in the "Tracfone/Net10" sub-forum for the Corporate Resolutions (or something like that) contact information, contact it, and you may be made whole.

    Good luck!

    What was this about:
"Rom : Then that will not apply for you."

So you ended up with double values after the chat session to reactivate, is that correct?

    Well done .
