Scammers can't order SIM online but add a fee if you don't order online?
I am sure this violates consumer protection laws
It is sad I need to state the obvious but some people just don't get it. Any posts I make are my own OPINIONS and in no way represent the views of my employer

Our carriers have a long history of racketeering-type behaviour.

Live chat says you must already have an existing Fido account to add (or get) the 3GB for $15 tablet plan. Anyone confirm this?

Don't know about needing an existing account. You do need to get a tablet on an Easy Pay agreement with it.

    I see it now:

Check that you are an eligible 1 Fido customer.

(You must be an existing, postpaid, wireless customer)

This is to qualify for easy pay.

Fido must have too many tablets rusting away in the warehouse to force customers to buy a tablet to get this plan. This requirement wasn't there a month ago.

Threaten to cancel and then follow up with it

    But why?
At $25 a month ($15 data + $10 easy pay) and I'm sure you could flip the Tablet for at least $150

I can't threaten to cancel when I'm not currently a Fido customer.
They will sell me a hotspot plan that is 1 GB for $15/month.
Part of the website suggests a new customer can buy the tablet and pay $25/month, another part says it is for existing customers only.
    Overall the Fido website sucks.

Ask if any of ur friend can order for u with the tablet, tablet comes with fed ex , open main box take SIM card out and send tablet back and keep tablet plan for month to month .
Then do a transfer of ownership of that number on ur name and keep plan for month to month .

You can report this to Fido at anytime!

As for what I found, again:

    "Bring Your Own Tablet:
Already have a tablet? Our Flexible Data Plan for Tablets starts at $10/month."

    "Purchase a Tablet Outright
Purchase a tablet and activate it on our Flexible Data Plan starting from $10/month."

    This was my point

    Choices
    A) Get hotspot plan 1GB for $15*
    B) Get tablet plan 3GB for $25 WITH free tablet

You could even regift the tablet if you dont want
    Christmas is coming and all

    * and if you noticed on hotspot plan, $25 = 3GB which is EXACT same price/data so I think you would have to be incredibly stupid not to take the tablet...
