    iDEN Lab RSS

    Hello,
    New poster here ....
I've noticed this section of the forums is dead, I'm hoping someone will pick this up as a new thread and read it

I have a Nextel i930. This is a dual band iDEN/GSM phone as it was supposed to be a "world" phone.
I want to try and use it on ATT ( the phone does USA 1900 GSM - as well as Europe's 900/1800)
Not surprising the phone is SIM locked and asks for the unlock code.
Sprint was no help - they say the phone it too old and they have no info on it.

My research indicates that the LAB RSS can remove the subsidy lock.
I have every piece of ancient Motorola RSS, all of it is easily dowloaded if you look ...
BUT ... as hard as I try the iDEN Lab RSS eludes me.

    Can anyone help?

Well it'll be useless on AT&T within the next few months as they are shutting down GSM 1900 by the end of the year.

T-Mobile would be a better option to use since they will maintain a small GSM1900 network

Now, as far as how to unlock.. The last one i did was in 2007/2008 so i'll see if i can dig around to see what I had done.

    *edit*

Maybe the files in here will help?

    Thanks for the reply!
I knew 2G GSM was being twightlighted but I've been trying to jailbreak this phone on and off for a couple of years now.

Nope - been there and done that with that other forum link.
It involved running software on the phone and it wouldn't work for me.
I have the Customer RSS, it lets you manipulate the address book and some other useless settings.
I need the Motorola iDEN Lab RSS - it has option to turn on and off the subsidy lock.

You might try asking in the Telus MiKE section. Quite a few Nextel phones made their way to Canada after the shutdown.
