Exclamation PSA: 5% battery on the road... DO THIS!

When you are on the road and your telephone has only 5% battery, and you don't have a charger, make sure to TURN OFF/POWER DOWN your telephone. So that, in case of an emergency later down the road you can turn your device on and it can "ping" the nearest tower; so that if your phone does die, emergency officials can locate your last ping and know a specific area to search for you/your family.
T-Mobile. Connecting you when you need it most... disconnecting you when you need to connect with God's beautiful creation! Service is great in cities and highways, but in rural areas they leave you with just your surroundings. I encourage you to get T-Mobile, disconnect for a while!

I am glad that God is not like cell phone coverage. He does not hide behind mountains or loose us down long windy roads. The Lord levels mountains, and He makes our paths straight!

Also remember that when your car is going to run out of gas, go to the nearest gas station. This will help you make sure that your car gets filled with more gas. Please share this tip so people won't run out of gas anymore.

When you are on the road, bring a mobile charger. They make some awesome chargers that can plug into your vehicle and even chargers that run on battery.

Even with them getting the last site your phone has connected to via the paging channel, it only would narrow things down to a cell sector which provides a very broad area to search. Better to save battery and call 911 if there is an emergency. They have a better chance of getting a more accurate location via Phase II or a court order to the provider for a location fix.

    Thanks for the tip.

Do you happen to have a source for this connection "to via the paging channel?"

If you are on a road trip with your family, chances are more than one person will have a cell phone. What are the odds everybody ends up with a dead cellphone.
