AT&T is now upgrading NYC Metro in preparation for 5G rollout. Union is on the way from NYC where a lot of people live in the region who work in Manhattan or the other boroughs. My area of Forest Hills, NY had issues for months now and upgrades are only finally starting to take place soon. Due to the rollout schedule of 5G in NYC Metro, all non upgraded towers will surely see upgrades in the near future with a combination of upgraded towers and small cell additions in locations. I suggest you use Mark the Spot app and send diagnostic data. While it won’t help immediately, and it will generate some false hopes when they claim issues were fixed, it will let them at least know that something needs to be done which it will at some point. AT&T’s 5G rollout will mean a much improved experience from AT&T and make it more competitive to Verizon, its most fierce competitor. Upgrades are indeed in motion for NYC Metro market involving numerous contractors and providers including Crown Castle Fiber, AT&T, and other related contractors on behalf of AT&T. I don’t know all the firms they have announced agreements with but there are numerous entities and some may be different in other parts of the country. By me I see carrier neutral small cells including firns like Mobilite, and others but I don’t believe or know if any are AT&T yet, Crown Castle work still ongoing, some AT&T work done in past and contractors doing work on behalf of AT&T. I expect across NYC Metro work will be ongoing due to 5G as 5G requires major enhancements to provide the bandwidth and connectivity. AT&T has the resources to do 5G extremely well I hope.

My home site here in KC at rush hour.

    At lunch:

And at the Brookside St. Patrick’s Day Parade not far from the lunch place:

Improved service at State Line Rd & I-435. Used to be about 70 Mbps, give or take.

Took this test on my S10+ Saturday night. I'm very impressed with the speeds that I am getting on this phone. They seem to be faster then what I get on my Note 9 and XS Max. Denver near 80th and Conifer road (84th and I-25).

Nice. I've noticed the battery life on my S10 is a bit better than my 9+. Wish I'd gotten the 10+ though. Good upload!

Anyone have any access to upcoming AT&T network improvements? This tower closest to me has been down and “under development” for almost 9 months and it’s getting frustrating paying for service when I can’t even use it in my entire neighborhood

Where is this tower located? Is it an AT&T native owned spectrum market? Each market is different. My tower is getting an overhaul in a few days in NYC market. Every area has a different set of zoning laws, licensing issues and so on and so forth.

I suggest using Mark the Spot application to report trouble reports so they know about the issue. While it won’t be an immediate fix, they will get the message and eventually rebuild the network. Some areas won’t have coverage due to the prohibition of wireless towers however due to NIMBY situations if small cells and regular towers are prohibited. The 700mhz spectrum can generally eliminate those issues to a greater degree however.

MTS app won’t do anything. It’s a “feel good” app to make customers feel important in making network improvements.

When network engineers see a problem, they’ll fix it. MTS doesn’t do anything.

I disagree. They collect diagnostic data and review the aggregate of data submitted. Some issues are not understood till they are reported by customers, while others have multiple datasets received so they know where to prioritize improvements. Data is definitely reviewed by AT&T.

When I had att a few months back. The app never worked. I never got a response on it or anyone for that matter.. most info on it was outdated. I called att directly and the network team is aware of all issues even without customers pin pointing areas. The network teams know issues down to the exact street level and even buildings that are slower once you get inside
    That app is a joke
