Verizon still has some nice consistency. If you are not a speed test person the average user is 99% satisfied with their service. They definitely have voice still as a priority. I have tried to switch my main line to them twice in the last 6 months because of my travels to NY. Both times, I switched back to AT&T because I couldn’t take Verizon’s service.

Sprint I have no idea, but nice to see some improvement. Only having 3 other people on the network during testing probably helped.

AT&T is the across the board above average winner if that makes sense. The may not win any one category of a root metrics but if I look at all components of wireless (voice, text, data speed, data reliability), nobody is beating them in this market right now.

These are obviously my opinions but they come from being all over the Greater Philadelphia market with a Verizon and AT&T phone. I had a T-Mobile line up until a month ago. As a user on a daily basis I don’t know how some of these companies get their test results.
I might have misunderstood. You said Verizon has good consistency but you couldn’t take their service? Where are they slow ? Philly? Or in your entire travels ?

Right. I just think it’s hilarious T-Mobile showed the worst in speeds yet was ranked #1 in speeds due to some weird weighting/ranking of the data.

I think the download above 5mbps and uploads above 2 should be weighted much higher. I’m actually surprised at T-Mobile’s results here. I have no problem ranking them the fastest in our area but overall not the best.

I was trying to say that if you are the average Verizon user you would be pretty satisfied, but I am saying that meaning a lot of time in congestion (traffic and major roads) the speeds drop below 5. My wife would only notice if Verizon wasn’t working.

AT&T in the same spots is pulling 40-60. If they are non-congested Verizon can shoot us quite a bit and sometimes even match AT&T in the 100+ range.

I will say for the first time ever this weekend I ran into a situation at a concert where Verizon was either no working or struggling to load and AT&T was putting up 6-10.

It is clear to me Verizon’s capacity issues are hurting them down here. Oddly they do not seem to be increase density as they are in other markets.

    Or band 30 and 29 instead of 12. It's a 6 carrier site.

30 probably doesn't reach, band 29 definitely should be there then.

It looks like NYC is finally not a disaster zone for AT&T anymore! Before the widespread rollout of B2 LTE it was a total disaster, then less of a disaster when B30 came on, it seems like they're finally getting enough spectrum to actually run a decent network!

They should have to average in zeros everywhere they don't have coverage. AT&T would get hammered too with crappy tests on HSPA+, although that's changing as they roll out more LTE.

    Not if you’re aggregating 12.
