Band 30 inside Whole Foods schererville, IN:

Looks like I'm not missing much speed wise, at least until CA is turned on for it.

Nice!! How does 30 penetrate ? That's a good signal too. Is the tower close ?

The tower is right across the street I think a 1/4 mile away. It seems to penetrate and travel just about as far as band 2/4. In fact my phone was showing 4 bars while his phone was showing 5 bars on B30 in the same place, so they may have it turned up very high.

    AT&T 4G HSPA+/LTE Speedtests!

AT&T proving itself to be amazing downtown again. Walking through Millennium park, looks like thousands of people wandering about and gathering.
    Band 2:

Band 4 at Superior and Michigan avenue:

Band 4 inside Gino's East. T-Mobile and Sprint don't appear to have service in here:

The speeds aren't amazing or anything but given the mass amounts of people everywhere it's doing very well.

Not bad for band 12! Only got 3-4 here before.

Meh Verizon has 2 sites in Rehoboth. Woo! They're useless elsewhere. 1X in Too many spots. Definitely not a ringing endorsement. Att is the best, by far, at the DE beaches.

Anyone know why my iPhone 6s prefers Band 2 over 12? Could it be because when I'm on band 2 it's CA? The reason I ask is because I get better signal with 12 in my room as when I'm on Band 2 it's 1-2 bars

Any site that has more than one band has CA. In the very rural parts where lte is deployed, its just one band. Speeds are great. I can pull 10 to 15 down 8 miles away from the cell.

4 x 2 mimo, I believe. Here in Queen's, the sinr and RSRQ are perfect on band 30 right up until it switches to 12. Some spots in-between cells where the sinr can get poor on 2 or 12, its great on 30.

Is there a speed difference between B2 and B12?

If it's CA, then ATT likes to keep uplink resources of B12 off as much as possible, so that other users who can't even receive B2 signal can have a usable uplink.

Don't all carriers put as many customers on higher frequency bands as possible?

I know for me my phone prefers B4+12 or B2+12 CA if the higher frequency has a strong signal and will do B12+4/2 if it's a very weak signal on the higher frequency band. This way you'll get the fastest upload possible. This also helps tremendously on pushing B4/2 farther as a secondary band where it wouldn't reach without CA and B12 is very congested alone because they only have 5x5 here.

It's not because of speed I'm saying because I get better signal with B12 compared to B2 as expected as B12 is 700mhz and B2 is 1900 PCS

Makes sense. Yeah it makes sense to have customers on higher frequencies in cities. I was just wondering because my phone will connect to B12 for a moment in my room and I'll have 4-5 bars but then it'll switch to B2 and I'll get 1-2 bars but B2 is CA'd B2xB12
