I've been complaining to T-Mobile and John on Twitter for months that I have had unusable data speeds at 5PM when I go to work. I was going to hold out until the merger and then if things didn't improve, move to AT&T. This week, they turned on a something in my area where I work and I could not be happier. Several months ago, I noticed all these small cells installed on light polls on about a 5 mile stretch of road that my work place happened to be on. I pretty much knew they weren't AT&T or Verizon although they have always been strong at my job location. Now I am thinking they belong to T-Mobile and are just now slowly being activated. One, is in front on my work location.

Here is the result. Same speeds that I posted about a month ago in this thread about a different location about 3 miles northwest of where I work. That location got turned on about two months ago. It is band 2.

Can you send them my way, please? As it's getting to be like the former you described. Quickly, before the NIMBY's catch wind of it! I only get results like 1/3rd of these at work (~80mbps) with the panels 10' above my head. I don't get close to 80Mbps speeds just across the parking lot, but it's still better than all the other carriers.

Help me identify this cell site that randomly popped up a few months ago....it looks like something I’ve seen on T-Mobile sites...

Last summer, I noticed a crew out laying some cable all along Pecos Street here in the Denver/Federal Heights area and on through other neighborhoods/cities. I knew it wasn't AT&T or Verizon because my speeds were unaffected while near any of them. Sometimes over the winter, they installed all these small cells on various light poles along where they laid the cable

My speeds on T-Mobile were so badly congested at my job that I barely got 1.5Mbps at 5PM when I went in to work. Last, week, that all changed and suddenly, I'm getting 160-250Mbps at my job. One of those small cells is about 100 feet south of my workplace. I went out to look at the access panels in the sidewalk and saw it said Castle Crown. I did some searching and found that carriers such as AT&T and T-Mobile have contracted with Castle Crown to install all these small cells in various areas. I came across this article from September 2018, right around the time when they began laying the cable in my area and it all makes sense now.

    A link to the article:

Here's a picture of one of them, not sure why this forum uploaded it sideways.

One of those small cells. only this one has the cylinder thing on top, the rest are just the white panel.

Zayo also does a lot of small cell installations in the Denver area. They are mainly Sprint, but have worked with TMO before. 3rd party installations are pretty common in Colorado and Wyoming (probably other places too).

    T-Mobile LTE Speed Tests

20 MHz of Band 4 - nearly symmetric speeds, the fastest upload I’ve ever seen on T-Mobile. Test is taken about 300 yards from the cell site across the street.
