Net 10 Sudden MMS & Multiple Recipient Issues

    Hi,
My wife and I have been on Net 10 for over 2 years and she has been on the Byop thru AT&T on a Nokia 520 for a year now. She has never had a issue sending or receiving MMS or multiple recipient messages until about a month ago.

If she receives a mms it just says press here to download message or something like that.

I can receive or send if I turn off WiFi then data then only turn back on data.

I know I'm going to have to call Net 10
and I am guessing that it's going to be a major run around because they don't officially support these functions but does anyone have suggestions on what to say or try so as to make this as painless as possible?

    Thanks,
    Willdb

It may be the phones APN settings. Here's a page that shows APN settings for Net10.
The APN settings control the sending and receiving of SMS/MMS & Internet.

    http://www.net10byop.com/program.php

On the Nokia Lumia 520 you get to the APN settings by going to:

Settings, Cellular+SIM, SIM settings, add or edit Internet APN, add or edit MMS APN.

Put in the settings from the Net10 page above for AT&T or T-mobile, whichever is your cell carrier in the APN settings fields of the Lumia 520.

    internet apn

    APN: tfdata
    User name : NET10

(That's all don't put anything else under "internet apn".)

    mms apn

    APN : tfdata
    User name : NET10
password : blank don't put nothing
    WAP gateway (URL) : mms3.tracfone.com
    WAP gateway port : 80
    MMSC (URL) : http://mms-tf.net/
    MMSC port : 80

    Thanks Antilope,

Sorry I knew I was forgetting to relay important information.
I have deleted the APN and created a new one as well as put the sim in a Nokia 635 all with the same results.

I know I read about this problem along time ago, I believe in the Straight talk forum but now I cant find the thread doing a search. Like I mentioned I do get them just have to go through hoops to do so. Btw Internet works fine.

I had a Nokia Lumia 520 and then switched to a Nokia Lumia 635 running on H2O wireless (an AT&T MVNO) and I had to enter the APN info manually into those phones in order to get SMS/MMS to work. I thought perhaps yours was a similar problem. But if you have already created the recommended APN settings, then it's probably something else.

A lot of carriers are changing their APN settings as they are going from 3G to 4G, so it might be something like that causing a problem.

Well I finally got it figured it out. I had all of the APN settings correct except I missed the IP type. It was set to IPv4v6 and apparently needed to be set to IPv4 only. As soon as I set that everything worked perfectly.
Not sure how or when that got changed or how I missed that on two different phone set ups.

Thought I would pass this along in case someone else needs the information.
