    Unlimited data users:

As of June 10, At&t customers with Unlimited data plans will receive data usage alerts every time they have reached the previous data thresholds. Previously, users got a one time notice and not repeated alerts.

Let the nagging begin. Just thought it was worth mentioning to those who will be affected. The speed throttling will continue for now.

Saw someone posted this on instagram yesterday. Looks like the same language with the new policy that we are already aware of. With that said still have yet to be throttled currently at 18GB.

One with An UDP here would probably get throttled constantly after the threshold being the network is at capacity almost everywhere (in NWI)...

Its only for postpaid smartphone plans in areas that suffer from congestion.

As a result of our network management process, customers on a 3G/4G or 4G LTE smartphone with an unlimited data plan who have exceeded 3GB (3G/4G) or 5GB (4G LTE) of data in a billing period may experience reduced speeds when using data services at times and in areas that are experiencing network congestion. All such customers can still use unlimited data without incurring overage charges, and their speeds will be restored with the start of the next billing cycle.
Anyways I'm not concerned since the networks not congested in my area. If they ever do decide to throttle me I'll be leaving red marks all over the Rootmetrics map as revenge lol.

    Again?

I'm at 40+ gigs this month due to all the carrier aggregation speed tests. No throttling yet.

It's just a message. The no hard throttling is sort of old news.

    Hi,
I know we got the alert at 5GB's. So this means that we'll be getting alerts when we're 50%, 75% and then at 100% of 5GB's of usage?

Don't know about 50, 75 and 100%. I haven't got the alert maybe cause I was over 5GB before this June 10 thing. Our son got the alert June 10th at 5GB, now he's at 9GB. I haven't been throttled and he hasn't been throttled.

However I'm curious what speeds will be reduced too. The message said 'speeds may be reduced'. Our son did a speed test Saturday in the Cherry Hill Mall NJ area which I would consider a pretty congested and heavily populated area. He was getting 19'ish Mbps down at around 7.5GB data usage. I thought for sure his speeds would have been reduced.

Actual throttling depends primarily on congestion in select markets. Not all Unlimited users will see any change in connection speeds.

First the message doesn't say throttled whether that means anything. The message says speeds maybe reduced. Like I said in my last post I was surprised that speeds weren't reduced in a heavily populated and most likely AT&T congested area in S Jersey. I wouldn't mind if my speeds were reduced compared to the previous hard throttling at .50Mbps.

And essentially the two terms "throttled and reduced" mean the same thing. Reduced is a kinder, gentler term.
