    TracFone LG 306G

I have the LG 306G and notice it has a Music category/section.
How would I put music on this LG?

Connect the phone to your computer using the cable that came with the phone, and copy the music files from your computer to it. Page 58 of the user manual tells you how. You can download the user manual from HERE .

Thank you. I read somewhere that I could see the card storage by going to

    Apps
    Settings
    Storage

I can go to Settings, but I don't see Storage.
How can I tell how much free space is left on the card?

ADD-ON: I connected the LG to my computer and it didn't connect. I got

Does your computer run Windows? If so, which release of Windows?

Did you download the user manual at the link I gave you? Page 74 tells you how to check memory space. The Apps-->Settings-->Storage sounds like instructions for a smartphone. Your 306G is a feature phone, not a smartphone.

May not be a Windows version issue, but a lack of LG drivers. This phone is a "mass storage device" instead of an MTP device that is Windows version dependent. I had no problems reading the SD card from the USB port, but the drivers may have been installed on my PC by loading the LG PC Suite utility.

Have not heard of other problems of accessing this phone's SD card.

Trying to install the modem driver makes me think the phone is not set for Mass Storage mode.

The card may not even bee detected given the difficulty you are having checking the free space.

Quit screwing around with the manual and go directly to the online tutorial. Go to the category Memory. It is spelled out there in a few easy clicks.

    http://tracfone.deviceanywhere.com/t...G&locale=en_US

There is a link to the manual for the Tracfone version of this phone at the bottom of the left-hand column. And this is true for all Tracfone tutorials. All Tracfone tutorials contain a link to the Tracfone-specific version of the manual. And that is the version you should stick to. The general version of the manual, available from the LG website which is the link hpham provided above, may contain references to features that Tracfone chose not to allow.

Did that dialog box show up on the PC or the phone? Likely the PC as at is where the LG driver is.
Did you go with the "What can I do if my device did not install properly?"

There is no Mass Storage setting in this phone. No choice because of no MTP.

The PC may be missing the driver. In my PC Device Manager it it is listed as "LGE Virtual Modem". Here are the USB drivers for LG phones:

It should have the same 3 modes my S390 has. (pretty sure the L500G had similar options.)
Mass storage, PC Studio/other manufacturer software, and charge only.

My S390G was always left to ask when I connected, but there was a setting to select a default mode instead.

The modem that with does is trying to install is used in the special software mode.

    Apparently there is.

When I plug in the data cable, the phone displays the message 'Connect as Mass Storage' and you click OK. Then the screen changes and the message comes up 'Mass Storage -- Connected as Mass Storage Mode.'

alicez, did you get these messages on your phone? If not, what did you get instead?

Nope, the LG 800G/840G/306G only ask to connect to Mass Storage after you plug in. If you decline it charges only. I have all 3 and have verified this.

Keep in mind that LG feature phones (at least the touch screen models) don't have the setup options that the Samsung phones did. LG PC Suite will not even work on these phones. Tracfone locked them down compared to the world versions. I even had to go to the LG UK site to get that utility, as it was not offered on the US site.

It does what it does. Only option is to decline Mass Storage and it will just charge.
