There has to be a subsidy on the vendor's end. Notice that this hasn't been offered on the postpaid side. Which is why the 6 months for unlock (unless on Cricket have unlimited). They don't want to subsidize the cost on postpaid unless they get something out of it, like an additional line.

Wow $159 is a good deal on Boost Mobile. Cricket would be better coverage for me.

Quick question from a Cricket noob. If I want to buy a iPhone 6s on Swappa and bring it to Cricket, do I need to buy only the models listed as Cricket compatible or will the ones listed for AT&T also work. I (think) I know that I need the A1633 model, but would appreciate any pointers to make sure that I get a model that will work without issue on Cricket.

I just tested this in the last couple weeks. Bought a GoPhone SE ($199 new). Did a quick test with my Cricket SIM. Worked as expected (ATT Postpaid/GoPhone phones work on Cricket. Cricket phones don't work on GoPhone or Postpaid unless unlocked).

Also verified that it was locked since, as expected, didn't work with Verizon SIM.

A locked (or unlocked, of course) AT&T phone will work on Cricket.

You can use unlocked or cricket models. I always buy international because they have unlocked bootloaders usually.
