Warning do not buy Life proof or Otter Box

Otter Box is suffering many problems
1- Otter Box CEO Fired on or around Friday evening November 7th
2- Two Weeks ago Life Proof President Fired
3- Otter Box Life proof for sale- Asking Price $2.5 Billion since August- No Buyers- Why?
4- Life Proof is using cheaper materials- The Life Proof Cases are leaking. If you do not open up power port while on phone conversation the listener will think you have bad connection because call is muffled
Seriously Life Proof cases are leaking and Otter Box not taking care of customers
5- Iphone 6 Otter Box Commuter and Defender Cases power ports and headset jacks to not align properly and the cases and plastic looked warp. The cases are just a chunck deformed, warped looking plastic

Otter Box repsonse- Their not defective- They just dont fit exactly right no warranty.

Sprint is now big on Trident, EVO Tech Case Mate because Otter Box is just a big problem with consumers and returns

AT&T is now selling Otter Box at or below cost to their dealers to get them out of stock. AT&T has made a shift to a Military Speck case by Pelican. The Pelican Voyager is a really nice case priced at $50 just like Otter Box Defender and I phone 6 Plus Symmetry.

T-Mobile sells almost no Otter Box

Verizon- They have now brought in more Incipio, Case Mate and other brands and less Otter Box

6- Otter Box Symmetry was suppose to be the new One Piece Savior for Otter Box. The One Piece case out since September 2014 are starting to come apart and seperating the hard plastic shell from the intercore protective TPU inner lining (The Rubbery Portion)

Damage Control Mode- Otter Box is going to limit their distribution to just a few and tried to hide the bad news and bad materials to the rest of the world. They will not warranty claim their product.

Otter Box Alpha Glass is cracking and featering. The edges chip and consumers can buy better glass for a lot lower price point for many devices.

Otter Box pretty Much has stopped making cases for most phone models except what they call Hero Phones- Hero Phones include Iphone 6 Series, Samsung S5 and Note 4. Motorola Droid Turbo they were late to party and again the quality issue has forced some major companies to possibly file class acgtion suit because Otter Box will not acknowledge the Leaking issues of Life Proof and the poor quality of form factor meaning the cases do not fit on devices correctly. Otter Box is afraid they won't sell company if this information comes out.

So this will be big topic at this weeks CES Show in Las Vegas,

    Regards,

I think there are a lot of cases that are better than otterbox right now. A few years ago they were the only option. I never tried life proof case but $100 is too much for a case.
    Current carrier: Sprint (11/01/2017)

What are the better ones out there? I've only known of LifeProof being completely waterproof (6 feet or less in water).

I meant better rugged cases than otterbox. my complaint with lifeproof cases is just too expensive I don't think there are other water proof cases.

Otter boxes scuff your phones anyway. My iPhone had significant scuffing damage after 6 months of the OtterBox. I've had better protection from a Speck CandyShell on an iPhone 4S than an OtterBox Defender.

The Speck cases are a good balance between style, quality, durability, and price, but are probably not a good choice if you're looking for something waterproof.

Poorly organized post, although I've seen much worse. The connection to AT&T, however, isn't that great. What accessories they stock is sort of, well, BORING.

It's probably a big deal for the manufacturers what retail sales channels they get access to, but it sounds rather inside baseball, and not terribly relevant to mobile phone technology. People on this forum probably buy all their cases on the internet anyway.

The Otterbox Defender is still the gold standard in heavy duty cases, as is Lifeproof for waterproof cases. I have an Otterbox Commuter on my Moto G and a Lifeproof on my iPhone 4S.

Agreed, somehow Otterbox managed to Jerry Jones and convince is they're good iteration after iteration...

When in actuality they've fallen behind the times, perhaps they were never ahead!? 😳
