Wonder if it's due to VoLTE and HD voice? T-Mobile's HD voice is not capable with the service and att has a disclaimer it's HD wouldn't be either.

Thanks. Well that really sucks for the users who wouldn't be using HD voice/VoLTE. Woudnt the phone have to be from the Carrier for something like that to work? Cause I use an Xperia Z2 from overseas

I always disliked calling somebody with a ringback tone setup on their phone #. Usually it was a song that I disliked and had no choice but to listen to it while waiting for them to pick up or go to VM. If they are coming to an end, I say "good riddance".

I hate some peoples to but mine don't play rap in the ear either. I usually have a 70s song as mine.

It could be that AT&T Mobility decided not to renew the licenses for uses of the material or the royalties demanded may have been too expensive.

Exactly. I never understood why the music and cellular industry thought it was a lasting business model for me to pay them to advertise their product by annoying my callers with music they probably don't want to hear.

It was pretty common to hear people with ringback tones years ago, I haven't heard someone using it in years.

I've had Frank Sinatra's "Fly Me To The Moon" ring back tone for years. You would be surprised at how many callers have said that I answered too soon as they were enjoying the song. I imagine that it's probably royalties/licensing. Keep track of it all may reduce reduce its profitability to the point that it may not be cost effective. My callers will miss it.
Funny how AT&T didn't formally announce it to its subscribers. I called my cell phone at home to quickly locate it and noticed that I heard ringing and not Frank. I hadn't received any ringtone renewal reminders and logged on to see the Dec 19, 2014 end date on any song I browsed, instead of the usual 6 month period. After realizing that it was probably coming to an end, I logged into HoFo to find "The Rest of the Story."

At&t's response is that it is incompatible w/ VOLTE/HD-voice service. Probably will repackage the service and re-release it later.

I'd like to know when HD voice will be live to most of the country. That's about the only thing I missed when I had Tmobile service

This brings me back. I haven't used or even remembered that was possible in years.
