    youtube keeps intermittently buffers

I can't seem to stream video on youtupe app or youtube via browser. the video keeps buffering every 2 seconds. But I am getting 13Mbps up/down on speedtest sometimes much higher, web browsing seems fast. I wonder if verizon Throttle me or youtube/video? I have reach 7GB this month.

this has been happening about 2 weeks now when I reach 4GB

I have the same trouble some times with my DSL with 25 megs down with CenturyLink. I don't understand that either.

Maybe it's the same issue that Verizon FiOS/DSL is having with Netflix: congested interconnections that Verizon refuses to upgrade.

This is probably the issue. Netflix and Google('s Youtube divison) already pay for adequate connections to these internet peering points. Verizon (among others -- AT&T for example) have this fantasy that Netflix and Google should pay a second time (to Verizon) to pay Verizon to buy adequate connections to these peering points. The current (inadequate) connections will reach 100% utilization and Verizon's customers get buffer city. Of course, Verizon's customers are already paying for internet access, not access to Verizon's isolated network, so Verizon should already be buying these connections since their customers are paying them to do so.

You might find that using a VPN helps.

Yeah, sometimes I think things do clog up on youtube's end (I'm guessing servers reaching capacity). In particular, if a video sees a sudden spike in viewers, I think it can start out on as few as two systems and so you can have these bog down at first before it is copied to more of googles/youtube's servers. If a video is bad, then fine if you try it again 5 or 10 minutes later, this could be why.

Indeed a VPN could help... if *that* ISP has good backhaul to some peering point with youtube and netflix, and a good connection to you, then it'd bypass the issue.

Having the same issue with ALL of my Verizon lines, its really bad right now. Can't even load anything on youtube.

It is not a data use issue at all, two of the Verizon lines have used LESS than 1GB.

AT&T and T-Mobile are working fine, it loads right up.

Frustrating, considering Verizon is the most expensive.

Me too. I have good reception and speedtest shows 15mb down. However Youtube app is unwatchable at 720p. 360p works.

Funny thing. If i tether to Chromecast it works fine. So i wonder if its specific to the Android Youtube app.

Must be a Verizon thing. I'm on AT&T and I've never had problems with either YouTube or Netflix.
