I personally am a fan of LifeProof cases. Been using them since the 4/4s/5 and now have one on my 5s. Took my kids to a water park and have priceless video footage I couldn't get otherwise.

Been using the Spigen Slim Armor S for my iPhone 5s and Neo-Hybrid for the 5c since day one. Great protection w/o sacrificing looks. Both iPhones also protected by Premium Tempered Glass. I dropped my 5s on the concrete sidewalk faced down and hit a small rock, cracked the screen but original glass unharmed and the Spigen case bounced off w/o a scratch. In all, my phone is 99% protected w/o a hair of scratch!

Otterbox is my least favorite. I like all the cases mentioned you can't go wrong with them.

for the money, no. and plus they get really worn after a while. The covering rips, disforms, etc.

    Another vote for tech 21.
I like the impact mesh or check same cases just different looks on the back. Not much asses bulk but fantastic protection from drops.

    Light weight alternative

Depending on your usage, OtterBox cases stretch and get loose in about a year.
Quicker if you swap your battery a lot.
The good news is, they will send you a new replacement part.

I don't need maximum armor nor water protection, so I favor bumpers, with a screen shield front & back.
On Amazon, you can buy all three pieces for $5, shipped.
A little better are the TPU cases which have ridges down the sides (look for one with S-shape on back).
Those are less likely to slip out of your hand.
Coupled with a screen protector, you can get both for about $5.
now with H2O, after Straight Talk LTE sim debacle 4th Quarter 2013.
Currently on locked AT&T iPhone 4S. (backup: iPhone 4)
    iOS: 7.1.2, carrier: AT&T 16.0 , modem: 5.2.00 , Data & MMS just fine.
    Previously at: iOS 6.1.3, carrier 14.2, modem 3.4.03 .

I really don't think many iPhone users are concerned about swapping their battery, especially when there is no real consumer friendly way to do it and the iPhone isn't designed to battery swap.

A: No, I would treat her as an equal.

Sorry, I was thinking about a buddy I lunch with all the time.
He carries a Samsung in a bulky OtterBox.

I feel sorry for users who need (or think they need) heavy duty protection.
Kinda defeats the whole idea of having a beautiful thin phone.
But on the other end of the spectrum are those who think they can get away with NO protection.
    That's much worse.

Ah. That explained it. Yeah, I don't miss replaceable batteries one bit. Not only the case stretching, but the back plate becoming loose and not staying on tight after a while.

My buddy replaced his own battery, all I can say it WOW! I got to witness that disaster and you couldn't pay me enough to do that.

I've bought one otterbox back when I had the 4. I think I paid 50 for the otterbox defender.

Lets just say that's the last otterbox I'll ever buy.
