Moto G now available on Wind

Just heard that the Motorola Moto G is now available from Wind.

It will be $229 outright or $129/0/0 on a $30/40/50 WINDtab.

Glad it's arrived. The price is a bit of a gouge but not by a bank breaking amount.

I'm surprised at the price difference between Koodo/Virgin and Wind. koodo/Virgin has the Moto G for $150 and Wind has it for $229. I Wonder if they are doing this to have larger subsidies and therefor larger ETF fee's.

Actually the Big3 are stocking only the 8GB version and this is 16GB. So that accounts for $20 which is the price difference between the two sizes in the USA.

That would definitely account for some of the money. I didn't realize Wind's version was 16gb.

Moto G in the US is $199, on WIND it's $229? Huge difference.

In the case of koodo the retail price for the moto g is $150, which is what the ETF is based on, so don't think larger ETFs is the reason.

Just a guess, it could be that one of the big 3 is clearing inventory because of uncertainty of future of device wrt the Lenovo takeover and others are matching.

Another reason could be volumn discounts.

On clue to inventory and pricing with koodo is whether you can buy the device on their website - specifically the add to cart option - which is not available for the G.

Is the Wind Moto G the same version that TELUS and Bell sell?

No. Telus and Bell's (Virgin actually) Moto G doesn't have AWS compatibility.

Yeah that's what remembered. So the TELUS/Koodo/VMC version isn't comparable. And like rlc5466 says, you get more storage. Remember, when you get 8GB of storage, the actually amount is less than 8GB. 16GB is much more preferable unless you don't put anything beyond a few apps on it or wipe the phone regularly.
