Random Hangups on Nexus 4 and now on Nexus 5...

I was getting random hangups on the Nexus 4 4.4.2. I thought that it was the phone, so I switched to the Nexus 5 but I started getting random hangups again. The phone just hangs up in the middle of a conversation! I'm wondering whether it is:

    a) a problem with the Nexus phones in general
    b) a problem with Android 4.4.2
    c) a problem with the Fido network/frequency in my area.

    Ideas anyone?

I upgraded one of my N4's to 4.4.2, and was getting signal drops, random reboots, and finally a boot loop. Sent it in for warranty, and they put 4.3 on it again. Hasn't happened since. What are the chances...

Because iPhones never have problems, especially ones running iOS 7 </sarcasm>

This isn't about an iPhone, so please stop thread-jacking. I don't care what device people use as long as they enjoy it.

However, this is a Nexus thread. Respect that.

Hi Fritz, I was on a regular micro-sim card on my Nexus 4 and switched to a micro-sim LTE card on the Nexus 5.

What about trying other locations if it also happens. I use a Nexus 5 and have never experienced the problem you describe. I have had hungups in my basement, and that has happened with all phones due to the poor reception there. I have friends with Nexus 4s and 5s who have also not experienced your problem. Could it be hunging up in a low signal area when trying to switch from 3g to 2G ( which i find has a higher signal level in the places i frequent when i have no 3g)?
Barring all that, maybe you have a faulty phone.

    Problem with nexus in general.
Some nexus 5 phones have glitches such as static noise while talking.

My Nexus 4 runs fine on 4.4.2. I used to get various communication glitches that could be attributed to the Rogers network, and they haven't happened since I switched to Bell's network.

In my family, we have one Nexus 4 and one Nexus 5 on 4.4.2, on Fido in Montreal and we don't have this type of problem.
