So much for ordering a Moto X Pure Edition to use on Grandfathered plans . . . . blew me out 3 times at checkout Ship date was initially Sept. 15, then Sept 17, then Oct 8. Now it shows backordered - can't pre-order my configuration any more (64GB with Cognac leather)

A few months back, I was forced migrated from Total Internet to Unlimited 4G +3GB SMH. For the first time, I have reached the hot-spot limit and received a TM text stating that speeds for hot spot data will be limited at 128 kbps until the next billing cycle. However, I now get a 'plan not compatible' error now when I try to activate internet sharing on the Nokia 920 Windows Phone.

Any thoughts why I hot spot is blocked instead of speed reduced?

    Phone data itself is working.

You should call tech support to see why you're getting the error.

However, 128kbps is going to be pretty worthless for most tethering activities.

Intend to do so... but was curious if anyone else was experiencing a similar issue.

I very rarely use the Nokia 920. When I had Total Internet, I received the same blockage of enabling its hot spot. After being migrated to Unlimited 4G+3GB-SMH, the enabling of its hot spot worked. After several months of not using that phone, I went to use it to see how hitting the hot spot limit would affect its function and discovered that the hot spot function can no longer be enabled.

I might wait on calling TM until the billing cycle is over to see if that clears the problem. Unfortunately, that is a few weeks away.

Someone inadvertently started me thinking about this thread again. John Legere has been taunting his rivals about overages over the last few weeks urging them to stop all overages. It just seems ironic (and slightly hypocritical) that this particular 'uncarrier' policy was implemented for those of us on grandfathered plans yet he seems damned and determined to kick us off of those plans for whatever reason(s). I know it's about that time of year when they try to start scaring people into switching to more expensive plans so I just wanted to remind everyone on grandfathered plans to call in and follow the directions on my signature. If' you're okay with being migrated to a more expensive Simple Choice plan then you can disregard this post. I for one like to save money and don't like paying for the 'uncarrier' campaigns.

There's no current info suggesting they are going to migrate anyone else over from grandfathered plans. And even if they choose to do that in the future, notating your account won't make any difference. Per the terms and conditions, they can migrate anyone they want.

thanks xarlon, some people here don't know what a suggestion is .. I don't blame you for being worried because tmo has randomly kicked people off of their plans in the past..who is to say they won't do it again?

John Legare wants to get rid of unlimited plans plan and simple which means that if people are using a large amount of unlimited data and it is costing the business money and they are not making money from you the customer they do not want you.

The days of unlimited are coming to a close and some will need to shift their eyes from watching every video and read a book...sad but true.
